It's the winter of content and so the tidy up continues.

Not a great issue and it's been like this for a couple of years now. The grill surround was missing a corner !

My recent trip to OET saw me pick up an un damaged one. So off with the old.

Then to the workshop(kitchen) to swap over chrome with my plasti dipped black insert.

Then assembly is reversal of removal as it says in the Haynes bible.

Job done.

Thats a nice RS2000 Pete, I had a white group 1 RS, loved it to death. My one had 5 link suspension, anti dive and a rocket box, and by the sound of it, similar engine spec.

The Octy is looking stunning as usual, seeing the garages in the back of the photo, you still got you roof after the winds?.

This is by far my favourite octy I have seen, it looks amazing and by the sounds of it goes very well, if my car could be half as good as this I will be happy, great work mate, you should be very proud of the work you have done with this.

It goes very well ;) and Pete knows exactly what its capable of!!

Oh and a few have asked where the group1rs name originated from.

Well here she is.

Genuine group1 Rs 2000 complete with all group1 options inc long range fuel tank. 44 idf down draughts LSD. 200 ish BHP.

And yes I wish I still had her.

Looks just like my old RS2000 Pete.

I miss mine too. Including the MK 1 and MK 2 Mexico's I had before the RS2. Even miss the S1 RSTurbo I had that handled like it was on rails.

Cars (past and present) both look great! So clean and spot on, superb.

I was once offered a RS2000 from one of my old managers when I was 19 for the princely sum of £995 and it was pretty much the same looks wise as yours was Pete.

I nearly bought it until I checked the insurance and that at the time was over £3k TP F&T so I didn't do it. How gutted I am now I didn't just put it away in my parents garage as it wasn't mint but still was an amazing car and one of my all time favourite escorts :(

Top cars buddy, just look awesome :)

Operation shiny front panel and bumper complete. Number plate re attached. What a PITA removing the old double sided tape ! Thumbs are quite sore now !

And OEM decals sourced for slam panel. Finishes it off nicely.

Thank you Ebay. Been looking for a spare BBS alloy for ages. They very seldom come up singularly but this week one did. Not a million miles away. But still a three hour round trip.

To get this.

Which resulted in this.

Next stop Lepsons to get alloy refurbished then new Vredestein then to be all hidden in boot. What a waste !

I had a look at the footage on the GoPro you borrowed, of the last session and it is rather amusing. :D

Now I know why that Porsche driver kept looking at your car in disbelief back in the pits...

Will post it up tomorrow when I get chance to save and upload it.
