hi a newbie need convincing

Featured Replies

I was thinking of writing something about Skoda, but got stuck on the Vectra.

You drive one of the most slated cars out there and are worried what people think of the Skoda badge.

You can't really care what people think that much!

Getting a bit gobby lately aren't you?

He didn't ask you for a view on his vauxhall did he?

No.

Sit down.

  • Taff, you've tried to have a go about what I posted, but because you didn't read it correctly screwed that up. So now it's time to get personal is it? Hmmm... Why are you on my ignore list again?

I missed this comment when i read the first time.

The thing is i had two Vectras and loved them both lol

OK, this should be good Taff.

I can see your comment now Jonny5 has quoted it.

As you usually talk a load of old rubbish I actually have you on my ignore list.

So what did I actually say about the Vectra then that made you feel the need to comment?

Fact: OP was worried what people would say if he drove a Skoda.

Fact: Vectra was given the thumbs down by certain motoring people, who have a big audience. It's not got a great image either.

Any thing else you'd like to add?

It's getting a bit much from some members that's all, slagging off everything that's not a Skoda.

I too am a "boss" and could spend loads of dosh buying or leasing pretty much anything within reason but I wouldn't slag off other people's car choice.

That is all.

Thanks Jonny for lightening my mood!

Good job he didn't have an Audi or BMW before!!

So how was I slagging off the Vectra then?

See tbf you wasnt as you rightly said a car thats been slated. which is a fact most mags and tv shows hated it.

But on a whole they arent a bad car :)

Thanks Jonny for lightening my mood!

You're welcome, however I did report your post for being provocative and not really relevant to the nature of this thread

Taff,

My reg number happens to be BO55 FOX by the way.

If I use that for my ID here I don't have to ask first.

I'm very happy you are a boss too.

Yes, you can go and lease any car you like. I'm very happy for you about that too.

<snip>

I still think Skoda are great. It's being an enthusiast, not having a few quid spare.

We are all on here because of a similar interest. Unlike you who, well, I can't work out why you are on here to be honest.

I know, my brother had three on the trot. :)

Ahem, "Lately" - Two months passed, and you felt the need to drag up this thread, and comment now in this aggressive manner? Did you just search "Vaxuhall" to see what kind of flack you could dish out to members? I am not surprised that your reputation on this forum in the eyes of others is going downhill so rapidly.

I found it that hard going to read the initial thread, I lost the will to live

Some of the latter comments, however, have made it all worthwhile

Using NO punctuation whatsoever isn't a sign of being thick, it's more a sign of laziness

IMHO

God I'm starting to look like a choir boy ;)

Ken, a belated welcome to Briskoda, lots of friendly advice and info on here and I'm sure you'll be over 8k before summer ends

If you want to take it personally and be like that go and check my cars out please.

GT-R reg number is 3 GTR. Yeti reg numbers are in the Yeti project section. Feel free to run a check on any outstanding finance.

You're reg didn't "happen to be Boss Fox"

You chose it.

You're reg didn't "happen to be Boss Fox"

It's not, it's BO55 FOX

IMHO it happens to be about time this thread was cleaned up  and we get back to the business of welcoming Ken on his new purchase and to Briskoda.

It's not, it's BO55 FOX

And Bryan, did this get issued FOC by the DVLA or did he buy it?

On a side note, I see your numbers are dwindling...

Welcome to Briskoda.

A very belated welcome to Briskoda ken, we're all a very easy going bunch normally :-)

Welcome to Briskoda. Good luck with the Skoda. This place has been the sole reason of me owning one the last 5 years :)

hi everyone just to comment on my vectra it was a superb car had nearly 11yrs of its life it had and done everthing i need of it it only let me down with my mistakes and the only reason for swopping was purley costs of running 19/20 mpg insurance and tax more than the value of the car itself i buy my cars for a long time and they dont have to be special just to look the part and when that monte flashed in front of me (some 8/9mths ago) it was a wow moment i chased and caught up with it and was deflated to find it was a skoda but im so glad that my wow instinct, and overcoming the stigma that i alone placed on myself worked out for me and i hope the monte will give me as many years as my vectra did (god willing)i have noticed one let down i will have to do two journeys to the scrap yard to get shot of my legal copper/brass aluminium thanks again for comment good bad dont worry i dont really give a s+++ its good banter better than the tv at the moment and the pubs full of one week wonders cant wait for the festive season to be over then the pub gets back to normal people and brimma when im at waddington air show for sat/sun in june ish i buy you a pint mind you i will be on my motorcycle my beloved yamaha fjr 1300 but tha twill be +hite as well all the best hope you kept awake reading this and as its christmas just for you heres a comma ,

Which particular numbers might you be referring to this time?

Taff wtf are you on ketamine or something ? Chill man! Your stealing my mantel and what numbers are dwindling ? Wish the numbers on my waist was dwindling, Richard and the rest of the gang have been absolute gents and respectful , now lets get back on track

To the OP...

Glad you are happy with being a new "convert" to the brand..............and yes those engines are nippy!!!!!.................

.and debadging is just the start of that long slippery slope of "modding".......which this site armed, with it's knowledge will encourage you to do!!!...

Also please be aware that like most other forums we also have our fair share of TROLLS..........

...some are skoda owners who like a wind-up..............

And others don't currently own Skodas...........

........and must lead a sad and lonely life under their isolated stones......

so feel the need to make stupid provocative statements to get some attention!
