How many have you spotted?

Featured Replies

Round our way there's quite a lot of "ups" - a number of "citigos" and only a couple of "mii"'s.

We have just acquired a Mii on our estate, glad it is red, not white like our Citigo Sport will be when we get it!

On a slight tangent, do owners wave to each other? I did in my Morris Minor (quite a while ago, I admit) and Mazda Bongo (our other car) still do. I quite like the sense of camaraderie. I think I will try it when we get ours... Providing we see any others, though I'm sure we will ;-)

I wave at any likely looking Skoda. Most vRS and Monte owners, but shall we say the less enthusiastic owners (read old ladies) never wave or even acknowledge another skoda

Smart drivers all waved to each other when they first came out a few years ago,but now hardly anyone waves. If i wave to them i get a blank stare. Then again there are so many Smarts in Cities like Manchester and London, you would be waving constantly like the Queen.

Years ago MGB and Triumph Spitfire drivers waved, and Bikers still nod. Today the only drivers who wave to each other all the time are Bus Drivers and Train/Tram drivers.

I have seen none other citigo's on the roads here in Norway so far (besides the one I convinced my colleague to buy :) )

Lots and lots of up!'s though.

Had our Mii for nearly two months and only seen two - one coming out of Milton Keynes on the day we picked up the car (it was not a local registration) and one a couple of weeks ago near Bicester. Only seen one Citigo, but loads of Ups! I'm surprised I've not seen any Miis around Milton Keynes as there are lots of other SEATs and the local market share for the marque is 4 four per cent (and that's excluding SEAT UK registrations, which is based in MK) compared with 2.7 nationally. Mind you, the Up!/Citigo/Mii trio are fantastic cars and great to drive - I'm loving every minute of it, even though it's really the wife's car!

I waved once at a pretty blonde in a Fabia - She stuck two fingers up at me though....

I see many Up's... my girlfriend thinks im crazy shouting Up everytime I see one. Its just the comedy side of the name as she thinks its a citigo.

Not seen many Citigos around, but I know theres plenty out there as we have plnety in for services recently.

Mii's on the other hand are very hard to find. I see 1 most weekends parked up but other than that only ever 1 or 2.

Maybe people are waiting for september or people like VW over Skoda, its just a name at the end of the day and Skodas are cheaper :giggle:

I had a Fiat Panda 100 HP for 2 years. It was a great car with everything on it and quite nippy. In 2 years i spotted only 4 others on the road. I guess most people bought the basic Panda and thought the 100 HP was too expensive at £10500,however i got it brand new discounted to £8000. It did 0-60 in 9 seconds but only did 30 MPG. I much prefer the 60 MPG i now get in my Smart.

The cars you see everywhere these days are the BMW MIni and the Fiat 500.

Snap! I had a white 100HP.  I got mine for £8300.  I fitted it with a Raggazon rally exhaust, heated red leather seats... ah memories...  cracking little car and a good example for Skoda to do similar with the Citigo...

Always get a nod from other vRS and Monte drivers, even usually a brief nod of acknowledgement from vRS Octavia owners.

Will wait and see how Citigo owners react.

Yes they were great cars.My only complaints were the rock hard ride and the foot rest that was too high resulting in a bent leg.

The latest car to follow the 100 HP is the Abarth 500. Again with the too high foot rest, but no problem in automatic form as i can have the seat further back and streach my left leg out.

You hardly ever see  any Abarth 500s on the road either, unlike the lower cost Fiat 500s which are everywhere, plus of course loads of Minis and Smarts. In London last week i spotted 6 Smarts in the first 10 minutes i was there.

I like Smarts - I used to modify them (both the Fortwo and the Roadster).  Best mod was a combination of remap and a paper clip plugged into two of the fuse box ports.  Gave you 100bhp and de-restricted the speed limiter. I bottled out at an indicated 105mph!

I love Abarths too - nice to see them (very occasionally) I'm wondering about an Abarth Maserati edition as a weekend toy...

I have had 2 Smarts. A petrol 450 in 2003 and the one i have now a diesel 451 new in 2009. I never drive it above 60 MPH on the motorway. You get there just as quick, and it returns 80 MPG at that speed. Round town i get 60 MPG. Also free road tax,and £80 for a service at a Mercedes and Smart indie.

The Abarth 500 is a nice car,but again a hard ride. The Abarth Maserati is expensive as was the Ferrari edition. They had the basic 595 automatic in the London showroom which looked good with leather seats. I am also interested in the Mini Cooper and the Mazda MX5, around the £15000 mark with discounts. Plus of course the Citigo/Up and the new Smart which should be out in 2014.

You get there just as quick

Oh no you don't!

I've spotted a grand total of 2 Citigo's to date. A white S model and a silver 5 door one. Seen plenty of ugly little ups and precisely one Mii, which was liveried as a body-shop courtesy car. I'll be gutted if I see a sport locally before I pick mine up.

Why is the VW up! ugly?  I know exactly why I chose a Skoda Citigo over a VW up! or a Seat Mii but am interested to hear why others did.  I'm not a Skoda fan so it had nothing to do with that.  The VW and Seat dealerships are much, much nearer than the Skoda ones so it certainly wasn't that either.

There's so many small cars here in Denmark, I cant even count how many I've seen of the UP/Citigo/Mii.

In my block there's 1 Citigo(Mine), 2 UP and 1 Mii.

Mines the best looking tho

Just personal preference I guess. I really don't think the front looks very good at all! Like a wide mouthed frog.

I didn't want a 3-door because the (front) doors are longer, heavier and more unweildy than the 5-door versions but if I had been in the market for a 3-door, I don't like the 'kick-up' that the 3 door VW up! has on the rear side windows.  I don't like the thin lipped frog mouth on the front of the VW up! and I don't like the black glass tailgate either.  However, having said that, the last two dislikes vanish on the black VW up! (or maybe the dark blue one too) because the frontal features don't really show up and the black tailgate is a perfect match.  I specifically wanted Candy White, so black was definitely out.  I also didn't want a painted, shiny dashboard.  What a pity that they forthcoming VW up! GT appears to be a 3-door only.  Roll on the Citigo Scout though.

I've seen a fair few Up's.

3 Citigo's

And 1 Mii, always at night but those rear lights are distinctive.

2 more Citigo's in the last 48 hours, both in Loughborough area.

Seat Mii land seems to be in the Melrose and Galashiels area of the Scottish Borders. On a recent 2 day stay we saw 5 different Mii's in white, red and yellow. These are the first we have seen on the road. There are numerous Up's and Citigo's in the Arbroath to Dundee area, mostly from Barnetts VW and specialist Cars Skoda in Dundee.
