Anyone?

What else is required to make this operational, other than the plug in at the end....

Depends on your particular vehicle, most are a case of install and code with VCDS

isnt there also a wiring loom that has to be pinned into the fuse box and somewhere under bonnet and spliced into ecu wiring? Then vag-com and vcds

Yep. You're right

From the research I have done, there are 2 scenarios and it all depends on your ECU/Engine code - one needs a wire through the bulkhead and one doesn't

1.8t needs two looms for sure, some diesels only require one loom. They all require activating via VCDS.

Would this work on a mk4 Ibiza?

No that wont work on a MK4 Ibiza. They have a combined switch like the MK2 Fabia.

The above switch will work fine as a replacement switch for a cruise vehicle. Other than that on any model you will also need the wiring looms.

Would it work on a MK 1 Fabia 06 plate?

Mine is 06 and that's what I bought it for but never got round to fitting it! Am moving house now so need to clear stuff out - less to move!

Can anyone recommend what is required to fit it to a pre facelift mk1 Fabia vRS? I had it on my last vRS but that was a factory fit.

Cheers

Think you would have to check, as previously discussed, some just get fitted and coded, some need additional wiring that can be found quite cheap on the bay

To fit any MK1 Fabia vRS you need that switch and the wiring.

If you were to buy this gentlemans switch I could make a loom for you and fit it.
