  • Why do we all do these events ? For the most part it's the chance to get together with other like minded Skoda fans. And also the chance to explore the speed thrill and handling of your chosen ride. W

EAT MY SOOT!!! :D

Sorry 'bout that!!

I'd rather have your soot than my white smoke!!! :( :D

Just sorting out my rear camera but not sure how much of the footage will be of any use. :D

Just been through all the files from my camcorder and it would appear I've made a schoolboy error; Those who've seen the vid I posted will possibly be wondering 'why is he filming the ground?'. Answer: I thought I'd stopped recording, and when I raised the camcorder and pressed the record button again, I turned the cam off so I was out of sync and have several more minutes of the ground when I thought it was off, and when I hit the button again to film the track, it stopped. D'oh :(

I'll go and write out 1000 times, I am a camcorder idiot :(

First time I'd tried this app Trackmaster just to see if it was any good. Logs your lap times based on the start finish point. A bit pointless given it was busy on track but nice to see. It showed it was getting braver on the brakes each lap. The blue bits where I'm off throttle was mostly to let cars pass.

The first photo is me. Do I get a prize for actually getting close to that illusive blue apex cone at Quarry corner?!

Was the car broken before going on track? It looked broken to be honest the way it was going round Quarry.

If I had to be critical, I don't think it was a good move to celebrate crashing with the crowd. ;) And also, crashing on the warming down lap? WTF? :D You only delayed my track session further (although nowhere near as much of a delay as the BMW/Clio 172 incident)

Sorry for delaying your session mate, believe me it wasnt my intention to crash, however likely a possibility that i would.

I was pushing to get back to the civic, i wanted to come in near him (silly i know) I went into camp faster than usual, trying to show off and belt around quarry, then it all went wrong.

The car was probably messed up yes, Prior to my track time, i didnt realise that my dampers were ruined, causing the car to pitch towards to ground pretty hard. I'm starting to turn it into a race car, and couldnt resist some track time, regardless off the fact that the project had barely even begun.

Once again, sorry for any delays.

Why do we all do these events ? For the most part it's the chance to get together with other like minded Skoda fans. And also the chance to explore the speed thrill and handling of your chosen ride. Without breaking the law on the public roads. However and this is a big However Motorsport is dangerous and anything can happen due to talent running out, inexperience or vehicle failure. We all know the risks. The only safe and guaranteed way that your car will still be in one piece at the end of the day is to do as lloyd55vrs does. Clean,Park, ride shotgun with Bossfox then leave. So you pays your fee and takes the risks involved. So see you all in sept. will I be on track again ? Hell yes !

He he :)

And i shall clean it

Park it

And bring a helmet :D

And maybe watch Richard in his crazy a55 lil toy car

Its always the ones you last suspect ;)

NUT-FOOKING-CASE !!! :D

I do still beleve his transport company is a front and he is really james bond :D lol

All that soot is like the funnel on the Irish ferry lol.

Did you watch BBC tonight, about diesel soot and particulate filters, Berlin has banned old cars from the city and the trend is catching.

Soon your car will have to comply with euro V emission regs to enter cities.

Great clip though, shows Mongrel has some poke too!

SWMBO's Golf has a sticker for Hamburg, without it she's not allowed to drive it into the centre IIRC. She's had it at least 5 years now.

You can see me at 11 seconds and......well, that's the only time you see me!!! :D

Did someone mention soot?

Mine still has a CAT Richard. Apologies for the soot, I thought you were joking when you said you didn't feel well!

I am not aiming this at any driver, because it's how the cars are.

But after Saturday's 2pm session and having a sore throat until the following morning there is no way I am removing a CAT or DPF from any diesel I have.

It's nasty stuff to be breathing in when you are close behind a highly tuned car for a fair amount of time.

Taking a mask next time I'm on a Brisky session. :giggle:

It's not called Diseasal for nothing

Headlights on! Mask on nose, you will look like a person in China lol

As I said, not having a go Simon. One of those things I now know about.

I blame my driver for staying in the plume and not passing you, despite having an extra 70bhp. ;)

Never noticed it on Brisky sessions before because it's been passing cars, not continuous.

Good time to mention there was a fair chance that was coming from my car? There's a hole in my downpipe, and I do suffer sometimes from fumes in the cabin.... I never suffer with a sore throat so maybe it exacerbated an existing infection?

Anyway - new downpipe and exhaust imminent, so won't be an issue for long! :D

Haha time to fess up Jason!

Well you did once own a blue smoker yourself, now you know how others felt when you gave it WOT! :D

Well in that case I blame it wholly on Jason! Also in your weight loss programme have you also removed your cabin filter?.... ;)

keep up, he got another one :D

keep up, he got another one :D

I will not fit a 1.8t, I will not fit a 1.8t... :D

BTW, nice to know it's not a normal problem and it was just a collection of things together.

If I get cancer I'm suing Jason. He's an accountant so must be loaded. :D
