  • Enjoyed today, will give myself a push to get on track next time. I should of hopefully managed to get a picture of everyone. First time shooting any moving vehicles so could do with some improvemen

  • Why do we all do these events ? For the most part it's the chance to get together with other like minded Skoda fans. And also the chance to explore the speed thrill and handling of your chosen ride. W

Great footage Karl, the Goodyears screeching just show how hard you were pushing.

Possibly too hard James, also was not leaving braking as late as I should - disc's and pads had only covered about 250 miles and did not want to kill them.

Having said that, unlike you did not have a problem braking with them the following day.

Karl

Which is fine when you are the one with the fastest car in the line up ;)

Had you been in Barrie's shoes and been sat in a Roomster behind a slick shod mahoosively winged Mitsi evo you're feelings may have been different :D

Yes, that's why I handed back my Briskoda session pass rather than take the Yeti out with all the loonies on the other sessions I had booked.

Not arriving at a corner with half a dozen rally driver wanabees right up your chuff is the right way to go IMO.

How Fast? is far more civilised.

I like Goodwood , going to try and get along there this year , only 5 cars on track at any time and no idiots , the Skyline is too loud for Coombe I think . Its expensive but you get top instructors , I had Anthony Reid the ex BTCC driver a couple of times

Thats the thing that black Evo has over 600hp and is properly circuit prepared with the driver having probably 1000's of laps of Coombe , in the same session you have 30+year old cars with less than 100hp and novice drivers, I'm stunned there arent more incidents to be honest

£165 for half a day with instructor and refreshments seems a good price to me! How much actual driving time do you get for that?

Hey briskoda dudes!

Just signed up, and come over from 306gti6.com so i could apologise to R8MXX for my poor overtake on his session at

got some pretty bad brake fade and had to use the gears to slow me.

Heres the overtake from my view http://www.youtube.c...Kk0BDLKA#t=623s the video starts at tower and works its way round, thought you might like to see your car.

And i do feel bad about it and mention you here http://www.youtube.c...Kk0BDLKA#t=780s

Hope theres no hard feelings!

As always, your session was well driven with some really impressive cars, especially the diesels! I always enjoy watching you,

Pebbles.

No hard feelings at all dude! First time I have driven my Octavia in anger since I bought it at the end of last year.. hence the early braking on my part coming up to Quarry.

Looking at handling upgrades as we speak, need to get rid of the horrendous boaty suspension.

Cheers mate :)

I thought your car looked nice and planted, sure it wasn't just better tires you need?

I think I'm the one who needs better suspension, my rear right wheel spent more time in the air than on the track.... Besides.. It didn't end well for me.

:(

Anyway, ill stop clogging your forum with peugeot nonsense!

Hope to see you all again on track at forge day!

I hope you are all right!

Is the car repairable?

I have had to skip work today, neck is incredibly stiff

Car is repairable, new rad, wing, bonnet, and slam panel needed. Chassis leg can be bent straight.

Only real damage is to my pride! haha.

I feel bad for the guy in the clio who got taken out though, Thats a damn shame :(

If everything is hunky dory with the car and you don't take a break about 1 hour or 4 sessions , you don't need to have instruction but they like you to at least once if you are new to the circuit , its pretty fast I got my old r33 up to 140 on the straight

That's the one thing I am the most apprehensive off when taking your own daily driver to an event like that - to be taken out of no fault to my own... Anyho, I am glad you are OK. Did you wear a neck brace with your helemt?

My insurer is Pace Ward they offer track day cover

I thought was a lil red bmw that got took out :(

But i was abit away lol

The BMW went off the track, spun back on, and took out a Clio.

BMW in the wrong so he did the taking out rather than being taken out.

the beemer was slip-slidin' past the Brisky stand, off the track, back on and unfortunately the Clio slammed into the side of it, the Clio driver did his best to avoid it, it came back down on a wagon, front wheels akimbo and smashed up front end :(

And the roof is also kinked so it's scrap

oven glove sales will be slightly down then :D

Jabo, I did Oulton Park, open pit lane so this meant track time between 9am and 12noon, then 12:30 until 16:30, you can go in and out as you please, I booked an instructor for 6 laps and in all honesty I am glad I did, he was good at what he does, information was great and confidence was well boosted.

I wouldn't think a guy for the whole day is necessary.

Was the car broken before going on track? It looked broken to be honest the way it was going round Quarry.

If I had to be critical, I don't think it was a good move to celebrate crashing with the crowd. ;) And also, crashing on the warming down lap? WTF? :D You only delayed my track session further (although nowhere near as much of a delay as the BMW/Clio 172 incident)

Has anyone seen any online footage of the BMW / Clio crash? I was walking back with Miss Piggy when it happened right next to us. Looked a mess.

Video from me on the day.
