  • Just bought this. vRS will be family car. This will be my fun/track car. Loving the AWD.

  • Mate that is awesome. Love it. If i had space to do something like that and not need it for a daily drive i would...

  • What complements the Oct VRS but the Fabia VRS ;-) and I swore I would never own a Skoda... Failed on that one BIG time

My other toy is an 18 year old Supra. It's an ongoing project.

I've just fitted a T61 turbo to it, just need to solve the fuel pump issues and thats it done

Tidy. I love these supras. Those alloys fairly suit it aswell.

M reg 1.2 Clio bought cheap as a run about, only 48k on it too.

My other toy is a 1998 Land Rover Discovery which I've had for years. Unfortunately changes in circumstances means that it is not getting used much at all these days and financially I am struggling to justify (to the wife) keeping it as it sits outside the house for weeks at a time without going anywhere.

It sounds quite sad but it's like part of the family and we've had some great times and adventures in that thing - really not wanting to get rid but needs must I suppose :(

Sunny weekend car: An MX-5 in winning blue (almost the same shade as a VRS), which hasn't had as many outings in glorious sunshine this year.

Runabout: A Clio MkII 80 dCi. A cracking little car.

I had a 1998 LR Discovery TD5, but it was an unhappy ownership experience. I expect a 1998 300 series was a better prospect.

I think that I know exactly where you are coming from. I absolutely love mine but they can be a bit demanding at times.

For about a month I had a Subaru Impreza STI (yes one of the blue ones with the humungous rear wings)........ with the full Prodrive Performance Pack fitted and then also remapped to give it even more power......... as well as my VRS and it was interesting to see how different the two cars could be to each other............. The Subaru I had been driving for the last 6½ years, but it was getting too much of a money pit, hence why ending up with the VRS as a replacement... I can actually hear the radio in the VRS..... and my teeth don't feel like they have been jarred to dropping out..... bonus!!

The VRS is so much more relaxing... !!

The wife has the octavia during the week so my runabout is a 1994 Defender 90

When there is no snow about I use the BM, I'd like the Sherman but the wife says NO.

Sorry upload of photo problem.

Hope this works the said Defender and BM.

Have a BMW Z4 3.0i in the stable with the Octavia. Not allot of roof down weather in the recent months but I love the sound of the straight 6 at full chat. Shame that BMW have made their last N/A straight 6 now. Try one whilst you can. Awesome cars for the money these days.

As well as the Octy I have a Lotus Elise lurking on my drive. It's as much of a daily driver as the Skoda, as long as it's not lashing it down with rain, I don't need the estate's boot space and I'm not off on a motorway schlep - the two cars are spot on the same fuel economy for day to day running, the seats in the Lotus are rather more comfortable despite being thinly padded and not adjustable and of course the steering feel is out of this world compared to any modern power assisted effort. It goes without saying the roof is off whenever the sun pokes out from behind the clouds... On the other hand the mapped Skoda is probably faster above about 40 and makes overtaking much easier. I can feel in a year or two I'm going to have to find a Starlight black supercharged Elise, do a swap and hope the missus doesn't notice...

For refence on my earlier post, as people seem to be posting pictures... my lot :)

My other car is a BMW M135i, I bought it a couple of months ago. I am really impressed with the car, it can 'pootle' around when needed, but press the throttle and it becomes a VERY rapid car!

It wasn't cheap, but, compared to some cars of the performance it was a 'bargin', the base price was good, but once you start adding a few 'essential' options the cost soon mounts up.

A rough overview of my car is 3 litre turbo petrol, rwd, 8 speed zf sport auto, full leather, sports brakes, adaptive sports suspension, xenon lights, upgraded HK sound, DAB radio, full back panel display, electric memory seats.

I could have had way more options, but, that would have took the car's cost to silly money.

Thought you may also like to see a video review of a M135i v an RS3. 20 minutes long, but quite enjoyable.

Thanks for reading and or watching......

Absolutely love these. I did a couple of Cannonball runs with The Panic Brothers in theirs which you may know of, a pretty famous car, "allegidly" ran in the Escape from Stockholm Video.

This was on the marble floor in a German hotel Foyer after we had been allowed to show a few of the cars

No sound on this but they melted the Tarmac

The car was also awesome in a straight line topping 200.

Great memories Of Jan, smashing chap if a bit Mad

Vauxhall Astravan Sportive (may trade in for another Skoda)

Yamaha XJR 1300 (will never, ever get rid of this)

Cheers

Dave

In addition to the Octy VRS me and the better half have the pleasure of:

Focus ST3

Suzuki Jimny soft top

Honda VFR800

Piaggio MP3 250

Something for every occasion and weather type :-)
