Silly fuel leak stopped us from going. :(

Could not even consider it really since it puts fuel down.

Good job really' date=' since the clutch master cylinder failed a day or two before aswel, no 1st except on the starter motor wouild not of been fun.

So alloy tank, new clutch bits and hopefully just hopefully we'll be trackable soon.

@Steve, yeah I've heard the 888's are not great ;) I'm using dunlops SSR9000 which look like the grand canyon compared to the 888's. They are scary on standing skims of water, still it keeps the stability lights busy. What life are you getting from the 888's on a ring weekend?[/quote']

I am still getting to know the 888s. They are useless if not plain dangerous in the wet. They give much improved stability due to stiffer sidewalls & grip is definitely better than road tyres in the dry.

They surprise me with how much grip they have sometimes then they go & let go without a lot of warning. At least they seem controllable when they do let go.

Wear looks surprisingly good so far.100 NS laps & about 50% left. NS isn't very abrasive tarmac though & the Boxster rewards smoothness rather than sliding around.

They look like a hard soft compound if you see what I mean. Nothing like the grip of Pilot Cups but last a hell of a lot longer & considerably cheaper.

Alex,

Found these pics on one of the ring picture sites. I have blocked the reg out. Looks like you had good weather.

Cheers Manny,

we had glorious weather but with the weather you get the people and it was absolutely heaving busy.

was taking over 25 mins to do a lap, obviously under 10 mins for a lap but up to 15 mins to get off the the circuit and loads of bikes and loads of crashes.

the circuit was closed for at least 3 hours alone on Sunday.

only 2 and a half weeks till i'm back again can't wait.

so who else is coming then?????

8th Oct...................

Alex,

Sorry I'm not going to make it now. The old folks wedding Anni and I've booked them a holiday. This isn't the problem, the problem is my nan got bumped up on the list so she will need someone to keep an eye on her after her eye op.

Cant expect the old rants to cancle as they have been looking forward o this for ages, their first holiday away together for years!

Gutted though :(

No problem Mike,

be plenty of time to get there next year,i'll be going at least 4-5 times i'd imagine.
