I'm tempted to come over saturday, stay the night, hammer the ring on sunday, and come back sunday night. I'll have to juggle my finances about, but will let you know nearer the time.

Sounds good,i'm driving home on the Monday evening, leaving the Ring at 7pm'ish to get to Calais for my 1:26am tunnel crossing home.

Be great if you did come along,as i missed last weekend due work with the rest of the Briskodians,i'll be taking the Boxster though.

Glad you made it home safely Dave, so the good weather Tuesday was the excuse to stay later than planned.

Just got back this evening after a detour on the return trip via Great Yarmouth. I drove for 16 hours yesterday and used 2 1/2 tanks on the journey to GT Yarmouth.

I'll put the pics up on my website tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled as there are some quiet creative pics of Daves furby. I can even host a video clip as long as dave gives the go-ahead.

 I'll be looking for you.

Hi,

I think allards might be running a trip!

So I am not sure if it would be possible to coincide trips?

John

I

@Carsten. No problem  . I did some 9 laps last mittwoch evening, and will be there again this sunday.

Got back at 5am this morning (long story) having had a fantastic weekend at the "ring".

I would like to thank Carsten for your hospitality  The hotel I stayed in was basic but comfortable' date=' and suited my needs, ie a roof, a shower and a bed. Cheap too. WWW.pension-zimmer.de.

The ring itself..........WOW. A real challenge. The weather had turned slightly on arrival, it was raining, and at times quite foggy, but a semi dry line appeared on my 7th lap, and I got a lap time of 9mins 55secs. (proof is availiable by pm only). (:finger: J.C.)

I managed a 9min 40secs time in the dry last night, but have no proof, so you will have to take my word for it. Times aside, what an adrenaline rush!!! I did 29 laps in total, 7 last night between 17.45 and 19.30 in the dry. 7 laps in damp/very moist conditions, and the rest in pouring rain and fog.

I must just add that I wasn't timing my laps in order to beat them each time, just out of curiosity.

They say you need around 100 laps of the "ring" before you can begin to get it right......I fully agree with that. It is a truly amazing place.

The museum is worth a visit, as are the go karts, also, the viewing areas are a good place to be to watch the manufacturers test pilots show how it's really done. When the track is not open to tourists, it it quite often used by manufacturers and tyre makers for testing. A real eye opener....

I'm now an addict. I thought the slippery slope of modifying my Fabia was a long one, but..........

I can see an empty bank account and many trips to Nurburg in the coming years.

Thanks again Carsten, and of Course Manny, the official Briskoda Photographer.

P.s., The Pistenklaus restaraunt (i thought it was going to be a fetish club:rolleyes: )serves some very nice reasonably priced cuisine. It is primarily italian, but local dishes are served too, plus you may catch a glimpse of the fastest van driver in the world ;)

Hopefully, many pics to come.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! As bad a case as I have ever seen Dr Frankenstein. All the symptoms. Suddenly spending

You will look for jobs in Germany so you can be near your new found love.

If you want to go fishing in Germany you have to take an examination before you can get a fishing licence. Trying to open a fish & chip shop would probably need as much form filling as being born, married & buried in the UK!

Silly fuel leak stopped us from going. :(

Could not even consider it really since it puts fuel down.

Good job really, since the clutch master cylinder failed a day or two before aswel, no 1st except on the starter motor wouild not of been fun.

So alloy tank, new clutch bits and hopefully just hopefully we'll be trackable soon.

@Steve, yeah I've heard the 888's are not great ;) I'm using dunlops SSR9000 which look like the grand canyon compared to the 888's. They are scary on standing skims of water, still it keeps the stability lights busy. What life are you getting from the 888's on a ring weekend?

Colin...what exactly were you going to bring anyway?

Not the Octy I take it.

  • Administrators

Lol the Octy...maybe ;)

Actually the Octy is almost as dodgy, needs a 60k service, turbo, diff, map, tyres, clean.
