  • It's only people with cars that don't have drl's that flash you, they need to get newer cars and realise this feature is cool.

  • I agree with this too. People think your lights are too brightthen BAM! Have that!!

Usually get people flashing their headlights going the other way, rather than being in front and putting a rear fog on. Not had the problem in the Monte so far but with the previous Elegance this was a regular thing, despite having no other lights on at the front :giggle:

The Yeti on the other hand, then it's very unusual, maybe 2 or 3 times in 20 months of ownership and that has the DRL in the fog unit also but higher up :wonder:

Its been bugging me of late lol i like the idea of a DRL just seems others dont under stand it lol

Lol i was considering that

My DRLs are turned off but have been flashed a couple of times on dipped beam with drls on as side lights. They do make you look like foglight ******.

I used to get the rear fog treatment from people with the standard fabia I headlights. And that was with halogen bulbs after an alignment... People just don't understand...

I could understand that with the VRS but on the monte the DRL is at the edge of the lamp lol so its obvious the whole lamp isnt on lol

Yeah they do look like fogs IMO I had the elegance spec fabia with all the toys fitted ( I do miss her greatly :( ) however I wouldn't worry about it though, I must say however its the fekin idiots that do switch the fogs at the front ( as if they're missing out ) bloody idiots

Hateful 'fashion statemen't things, and they'd be the first things to be disconnected if I purchased a new car with them fitted.

Not fashion at all , they make you more visible to on coming traffic , hence the flashing issue? I've the vw so I have a fried egg effect ;)

No mistaking my DRLs for fogs :)

Its weird how skoda put DRL in the fogs as most used DRL in the headlight unit or a separate LED unit (like the octavia VRS)

I've noticed this a lot more lately, just a quick blast of high beams sorts them out. Not too keen on the fact they think I'm a nobber using my fogs though.

I've never had this problem tbh

I had DRLs on a SAAB nearly 30 years ago and the amount of flashing you got then when much worse than now. I finally took the fuse out.

Getting flashed is more fun when you have bi-xenon headlights. My old Focus ST used to get flashed all the time because people thought the dipped beams were full high beams. They all got awful shocks when they were shown how wrong they were, it invariably stops the flashing a quick blip of full beam. If you're still bothered about what people think of you then you need to be less self-conscious :)

I agree with this too. People think your lights are too bright

then BAM! Have that!!

The recoiling look of horror on their faces is one of those 'Kodak moments'!

I've had the rear fog treatment a few times. Quick blast of main beam usually gets 'em to turn it off. Muppets!

Since DRLs have become more common I've definitely noticed more losers driving around with their front fogs on -its like they feel inadequate they don't have DRLs fitted and have to pretend lol. Even more laughable are the halfords-special-DIY DRL kits people seem to tack on the front of their 10yr old rusty corsa

Drivers will eventually learn the regulations applying to all new cars sold in the UK.

I have just driven home this afternoon in dreadful conditions of torrential rain and bad light.

The number of cars I saw with no lights on convinced me of the importance of DRL's as it illiminates the idiot factor.

Tony :wall:

p.s.I believe they have to be fitted, but do not, sadly, have to be activated yet.

I just wave it tends to **** them off :)

I was stopped by the Police nearly 2 yeas ago when DRLs werent so common as he thought I had my front fog lights on. Once I explained the DRLs he was apologetic and we carried on. They werent so common then. I have seen that they are starting to appear on heavy trucks as now.

Regards

Have been standard on bikes for a number of years now

Ive not had a problem on mine
