Tdi into arx 1.8t oct 4x4 estate

Featured Replies

Hi guys just about starting this project and just wondering if anyone had done it before or have heard about one done before.... Will be dropping the 1.8t outta the 4x4 next week coz its just about doing 27mpg :-( . Was thinking about atd/axr 130 would be plenty powerful with a remap nothing major..... Any and all help greatfully received!! I know the engine will mate upto the box alright but will have problems with wiring looms/ exhaust/gear ratios!!!

Cheers...

Forgive my naivety but could you not just sell the petrol 4x4 and buy a diesel 4x4?

No prob man..... The mk1 4x4 were only available diesel as a left hand drive no rhd's I'm afraid......well as far as I can tell :-)

That is correct, there were no UK spec 4x4 tdi mk1 Octys :-(

Just have to make one then I guess since skoda weren't bothered to do so! :-)

Would you not have to get a diesel 4x4 box too?

Next to impossible to get but I can put the guts of the tdi box into the petrol4x4 box coz the casing is the same bit of a pain though! Would be easier if I could get one alright.... :-)

there are so many reasons why it is an impractical project to take on, you would probably be better off starting with a diesel model and converting it to 4x4.. The Audi a3 quattro was available in tdi form so that's where all your running gear should come from.

Teflon Tom was thinking about going that road until I found out t he body shell is.different at the rear where it takes the 4x4 running gear, would have been loads easier as I have a diesel estate already!!

Snow muncher.... 2 fine examples man pity they're so far away :-)
