...I'd get to evaluate the performance of a 100% stock MK2 vRS :)

At the damp first event a stock mk2 Fabia was fastest of everyone

  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

  • I need something to cheer me up Just to bring this to the front as it's several pages back... 1. BossFox - Booked In 2. CRAIGROBBO - Booked In 3. PastyBoy - Booked In 4. M12MKD - Booked In 5.

And because he was on standard tyres we all thought he was a great driver.

well i thought cos he'd not bought a set of super lightweight OZ racing wheels shod with slick racing tyre's he was a right woofter but each to their own

Right, all stock then!

If you're making the trip up John just take part in the event ;)

I would but i'm already trying to tighten the purse strings, so shelling out £89 for this isn't going to go down too well. :(

If that sequential box isn't in the Citigo I'll probably be in a Yeti. How confident do you feel? :giggle:

You tried and you failed! :)

There are ways mate. I usually let her spend some money on herself and THEN come up with my expenditures - guilt trip always work :D

Hmmm, let's see.

2.0TDi Yeti with additional 50 kg of fresh leather ( ;) )- 170PS/1480kg=114.86PS/tonne 350Nm/1480kg=236.48Nm/tonne

1.4 twincharger with Jabo on a diet inside (yeah right!) - 180PS/1243kg=144.8PS/tonne 250Nm/1243kg=201.12Nm/tonne

I'd say it could be interesting! catching you up on striaghts but potentially losing on corner exits due to better torque curve and more weight to put it down. Then power band of the twincharger is very broad and starts very low soo... That's taking driving skills out of the equation :D

I'd love to see City Go-Go trying to put dwon 400bhp/tonne in wet!

I've had a confirmed non-attendance from one of the non-booked in members so have removed them from the list

Happy for non-Skoda owning members to book in next week if the spaces haven't been filled.

The week after that i'll allow non-Skoda driving mates of members.

After taht MSV shall release it and we'll be at the mercy of the muggles

So I'm being told by many here. I'm seriously considering jjust arrving 100% stock on my current tyres. Plus side is I'd get to evaluate the performance of a 100% stock MK2 vRS :)

20-30 mins, is that all in actual track time??

mine will be 100% stock too.... I have awsome tyres though :p

I'll be looking 'closely' from afar to see how the times this time compare to the first time I went, when the stock Fabia was quickest

I would expect much faster this time

Again, shame I can't commit to it, but my treatment will be starting around then, and I've no idea how it's going to affect me

I know why my payment wasn't taken, the card details I gave had expired and a new card issued, all paid now, see you there :rock:

0.01 seconds last year between a mkII Fabia VRS and my Yeti. :)

Having thrashed both the Fabia and the Yeti, I think the Yeti turns in better and is more planted in the corners, Fabia can go a bit light in the front, it did in the wet anyway.

That aside, I will have a Fabia at Bedford and will use Jabo as my pacemaker, evenly matched we should be ok.

What tyres have you got on Jabo?

I would agree as following Richard around he had far better traction out off the corners in the yeti. Have to say I think the yeti for a 4x4 is a very well sorted piece of kit.

Right then, rear seats stay at home and I am starting my diet now! With 4x4 drive I can see Yeti being well hard to catch!

Dunlops, that's what they put on at the dealers/factory. If you want a good track MPG then I can be your pacemaker :D. I much more prefer chasing that being chased ;). Then pull that sneaky overtake and disappear into te distance, err wet grass :D

I am on Dunlops too, but as for chase me, I don't play that game

Looking forward to this and CC, I am sure it will be really good.

As a taster, me trying to fight my way round. Definitely needed better rubber.....

Nice, did you out brake yourself or did " the Kimi"? What's your car bhp/torque?

Outbraked - braked where I usually braked in the dry, and my tyres said, "No, thanks".....

Not sure what my car is running. Just had hybrid turbo fitted and not quite working right yet - work in progress. It will be in the high 200s at least.

What tyres were you running ?

I think actually the tyres I am still running now - Parada Spec II

Not the best rain tyre, but great in the dry. My aim this time if is dry forecast is to drive there, race on, and drive back on my track wheels.

Only thing I will change is the brake pads again, yellow stuff were really good at Oulton Park so I think they will help at Bedford, for CC everything will be standard.
