  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

Stuff is fine to leave in the pits.

There's no public access so just us with the ability to rob your stuff.

At event #1 one of the pit garages was open so we could put stuff, and/or view from, indoors out of the rain (which may come in useful on Saturday!)

I'll probably take mine out while on track

Pre-event checklist

1. 4 wheels - check

2. Spare wheel in boot - check

3. Tank full of diesel - check

4. Car stops when I press brake pedal - check

5. Single forward-facing DR400G HD - check

6. Rear seats - check

7. Spare shreddies - check

I'm sure I'll forget something really obvious though :(

Helmet? ;)

Helmet? ;)

That's an integral part, Jase :)

I just took the winter tyres off the Yeti. Summers back on.

Thought that may help...

You never know, might be snow on Saturday! I was in Paris last Thursday and it was snowing :o

I've got them here, just in case.

If it rains I'll be laughing.

If it's dry, I'll be bringing up the rear behind all the racing drivers. :D

Well, winter tyres are made of "softer" rubber (higher silica content) and have tread designed to generate ... Ooops, forgetting myself again :D

Cued by your reminder just booked my beemer in :)

cleaning the car... glad someone mentioned helmet, I would have forgotton! lol....

No worries, you can rent one for a tenner, just make sure there is a head to be put in it :D

Ok, wheels on, pads in and brake fluid changed (and I topped the oil up)

You washed your helmet, Dave?

Has it not been washed since Combe? :(

Eeeeeeeeeeeeew!

New helmet with changeable cheeks, looking at tyres now. I shouldn't but I am.

go get some RSR's in 215/40/17 flavour, then I'll do you a swop for the dunlops! lol....

I am looking at that many tyres now I am confused lol.

I was looking at;

Toyo Proxes T1-R @ £88.17,

Avon ZZ3's @ £92.31

and now in the mix with excellent reviews and cheaper are

Maxxis MAZ1's @ £82.20 and

Falken ZIEX ZE914 @ £83.41

I have zz3's on the front now with only 3mm on them, hope that is enough for Saturday, on the rear I have Kumho KU39's with about 5-6mm on them, so thinking I should swap the Avon's?

WDYT?

get the maxxis (if you dont mind rumble) trust me ;)

I was thinking that too, I have to say though that the ZZ3's were great in the wet at Oulton Park, they are just looking a bit....... well shagged! I was thinking 3mm, almost like a semi slick lol.

Surely brand now tyres are the worst thing you want for a track day? :(

on the front.
