  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

So is there just the 17 of us (mostly Skoda) drivers, or are there other people that will be peeved to find a track full of Skodas on the day. :D

Do it, You know You want it :)

That depends whether the mighty Nissan 370z is putting in an appearance or not

And can someone remind Pasty to bring plenty of money with him, since he's treating us all to lunch :D

Richard post #1 seems a long way away from where we are now. I am happy we are turning left mostly as I have more tread on my right front! Thanks for reposting.

I am doing nothing now, car is full of fuel, camera SD card is wiped and I have some pocket money for food and drink tomorrow, see you all there

Well I'm not taking it seriously.

Otherwise I'd fake a last minute puncture on the "SUV" and bring the giant banana. ;):D

Did somebody mention Banana???? I am not too serious, just looking for my best from what I have got, I hope that when the hot laps need doing that the lap times don't go down from trying too hard

That would make it far too easy for you, Richard, and we all know you like a challenge :)

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how a Yeti with just a remap matches up against some of the more sporty models Skoda produces.

In the dry I still think it's not that different to a mk2 Fabia VRS, we'll see.

In the wet it's noticably quicker..

Time our outing together, however I do believe a lot is down to the driver. I am happy to let you set a time in the Fabia for a return ride in the Yeti????

I would never drive anyone else's car James, but thanks for the offer.

I am "enthusiastic" with my cars, so either it wouldn't be a fair comparison or I'd run the risk of breaking it...

should be 16 skodas, a rover and the rice rocket

During the Hour Practice are our lap times available to see what we are doing?

They do a leaderboard of times at the end of the practice session o let you know where you stood and then another after the pressuried 2 timed laps.

At event #1 most practise laps were quicker than the timed ones....although the rain during timing may have had a lot to do with that

all in hand Brimma

Ok, no worries but the offer stands if you want to

Indeed,

I was whizzing round during the practice, mostly pointing in the right direction.

But rain and being last for the timed run saw me go around ten seconds or so slower per lap in the little Fabia!

Except me, who somehow managed to go substantially quicker in the wet :)

I obviously paced myself too much in the warm-up

Is using something like DashCommand for track recording permitted? It does lap timing as well.

Car still not ready...

But at least the weather is brilliant so a pleasure to be outside :D.

BTW, Mark in 370Z is coming.

just do it

if it's a problem one of the MSV guys will soon tell and you can take it off

Excellent i look forward to sooting all over it!

What time do we have to be there guys?

Also i wont ve comong for lunch aftet unfortunatly as i have to pack for my holiday to rome which i fly out from at 6am on Sunday :-/

Looking forward to this so much though :)

imor

If there's a leaderboard at the end of the "practice" session, does that mean they stick the transponder or whatever it is on your car to measure your time at the beginning or just for the last two laps?

I'll bring my 10Hz GPS logger for some accurate timing and others are welcome to borrow it when I'm not running. I can then email you the NMEA logs when I get home.

Would someone have a windscreen suction-mount camera holder (with normal camera 1/4" thread) I can borrow?

I'll have my camera, but only a head-band support for it LOL. Again, people welcome to borrow it during their sessions and grab the videos off the micro-SD card at the end.

In the end, I gave up rebuilding my Brembos. The banjo-bolt (or whatever its name is) is made with the softest allow ever and my open-ended spanners just seem to want to turn it into mush... I'll post in another thread with the photos

I h e two suction mounts but I am scavenging them for parts to make proper c order mounts. That is time allows!

My rear brakes had so much air in the I could not believe it!! Shocking, bibles kept coming and coming.... :(

Event starts at 10 so aiming for around 9:40 ish

no problem onlunch we'll play it by ear tomorrow

I supposed to be rushing back to go to Prescott Hillclimb but we'll see

They stick them on before you head out on track.

Meaning every lap is timed but they only hand over a leadlerboard of best lap times from the practice session

and than the one that matter following the timed laps.

Transpoders are removed whilst the cars are in the pits while we watch the timed laps/discussing the results

See hither and/or thither

Just loading a few Morrissey CDs onto the hard drive to cheer me up whilst lapping :)

Had signed up for this on Wednesday. Had not had time to post. Really looking forward to it. First track session since putting bigger breaks on 5 years ago. Lunched turbo this morning. Gutted. Enjoy, wish I was their.

You ate your turbo? :(
