I think Gimme shelter was the music to an RAC ad back in the 80s. It's been in a Vietnam movie as well. Air America IIRC which technically was Laos lol

👍Don't think so. I remember when this came out in '73. Was all the rage at the time & very different to other music we were listening to at the time & still is to a point today. It was also the very 1st album released under Richard Branson's Virgin Records brand.

its 3am, im lying in bed after getting all the stuff in the dishwasher and all the other just post arrival stuff ..

on holiday... car is parked 300 yds away in an under ground carpark (probably gonna be expensive but will suss the area out better in the morning. after an hr delay on the flight, and collecting the car etc, we got to fuengirola as the night life was in full swing on a Saturday night, so i wasnt much arsed about trying too hRd to get a spot.. light travelling my backside, 3 trips to get all the gear from car to apartment!

 

so what am i listening to?

 the gentle snoring of spud sr alongside me in 1 room while missus mac shares with jr as that room has some easy breakable bits and pieces so its easier have one of us with him...  and the noise of the waves on the beach 50yds away just creeping passed the double glazing.

 

 

 

just the bloody shops would open on a sunday around here now to get some stocks in!

jist hung out the beach gear on the balcony, listening to a podcast in one ear (Sceptics Guide to the Universe episode from 2008... because i have to start a podcast series from its beginning) and the waves rolling on beach while drinkin a beer. only interruption being the occasional hairdryer powered moped buzzing down the road between me and the beach. still in just a tshirt at 10pm.. in February... this is just so weird for me
