Back To The Chipping Subject Again!!

Featured Replies

I thought I'd tell you about my experience with my Dealer whom I bought the car from because I just can't believe it!

When questioned about warranty issues on remapped cars the service manager stated that as long as I get the car remapped by jabba whom Skoda also use, My warranty would not be invalidated

He stated that the only questionable area may be the ECU but as long as I keep the original chip he would deal with any potential issues if I were to come accross them!!

He also stated it's almost impossible for dealers to tell if the car has been chipped, and he would rather know the truth about the car to enable his team to diagnose any issue and (wait for it).....set the cars up properly after services for you!!!!

He thinks it helps keep customer loyalty.

HE was virtually egging me on.....It was so blatant!

Has anyone else had experience of dealers who are this good!! I was going to name the dealer but not sure on board rulez and legal

I know which dealer that is :D

Please do not name dealers like this on the board. Why? Well, they will get in to trouble with Skoda UK and then you will have warranty problems.

Jon

nice to here positive info on another dealer... go on get it chipped!

Leon,

could you PM me the details?

Cheers.

Adrian.

After chatting with the guys at Jabba I'm booked in for 20th August...425 inc VAT sounds like a bargain to me...!

Was going to go for the chip but the guys at Skoda told me to get the remap, They have had fewer problems with that. They only speak from their experience. I guess they may work on more that have been jabba'd as it seems a very popular choice.

Adrian Will do...They are officially my favourite dealers ever now.

er you don't work for Skoda though right???

Oh........you should have been looking at the forums more closely. I've just arranged a group remap at 10% discount and I've just booked it this morning!

However all is not lost; mention Briskoda to Brian/Carole and you'll get a 5% discount.

The 5% discount is for all individual purchases i.e. remaps, DV etc.

Cheers.

Adrian.

p.s No, I don't work for Skoda - just thought it'd be good to keep track of mod friendly dealers for Briskoda members. Would have to keep it "locally" though out of harms way.

Regarding the group remap, are we expecting Jabba to call us to arrange a booking date, or do we have to call them? Should we be quoting any sort of code or anything?

Cool, I will definately mention Brisk to the guys at Jabba, Just for those that read this thread, I am a fairly new member of the Skoda community and the support network that this site alone gives makes buying a new one fairly trouble free.

I will def make the time to look over over areas of the site coz a 42 quid saving is fairly good for just a few clicks....doh!

Rob,

better that you call them as this will reduce your anxiety level;) ..well it did mine anyway; just say you're calling about the Briskoda Group remap and Carole will know what you're talking about.

Cheers.

Adrian.

To quote an old TV ad....(Seiko watches i think)

One day, all Skoda dealers will be made this way.

OK, who is this mystery dealer then? A clue perhaps...?

:drive1:

But you work for Skoda customer services??!?!?

Leon,

FYI:

to qualify for the 10% discount you must be part of the Group Remap. This is our 2nd one. I shall arrange another when there is demand.

All Briskodians qualify for 5% discount at any time for anything.

So you be able to get 5% discount off your remap; just remember to mention Briskoda when you go to Jabba.

Cheers.

Adrian.

LadyLoki,

Welcome to the site. :)

Might I be so bold as to ask why you, as a non-Skoda owner, would need to know which dealers are mod friendly? Purely curiosity on my part. Feel free to PM me if you wish, but I do have the feeling that you may have something to do with Skoda UK, probably customer services.

If so, you are most welcome on here, along with those members we have from several dealers. Maybe you could answer some of the questions that have been raised by our members but to which we can't get answers.

Regards,

Jon

(not that worried about warranty as with my mileage it'd only get thrown out as wear and tear)

ladyloki,

if you do work for skoda - i hope you do.. please ask them for some official input/recognition towards Briskoda, as all the mods work hard to promote the skoda name in the UK:)

jon u have pm. FYEO.

That's a bit like walking into the Post Office carrying an envelope marked "Top Secret - Postman do not open this envelope" and saying in a loud voice to the cashier "How much to send this TOP SECRET letter to Australia (or anywhere else)"

People who want to send secret messages don't generally announce that fact to the listening world - it promotes unwanted curiosity :p

who said the mail had anything to do with briskoda...?

might have been an invite to dinner? or a death threat? or arranging a secret party for des's birthday ( this month) or...

doh! ive let the cat out of the bag...

Would a dog be more appropriate than a cat? ;)

Rob.

Sorry - just one of my silly peeves - rather than relying on the pm-ee's native wit and powers of observation (i.e. their eyesight) to notice that they have a pm, a post is considered necessary to tell them (and therefore everybody else) that a private message has been sent - all lends to the unnecessary cloak and dagger image ...

me and big jon were raised in the ghetto so we iz well uzed to cloaks daggers and drive by...... ;)
