Better looking than the hatch - which is good as the hatch is a good looker too!

Very smart indeed - shades of BMW 3 series and Volvo in the design from some angles.

I rate that very highly. Now give me the 4x4 with the 1.8TSi engine and show me where to sign!

looks great. I bet it will be too big for my dad's garage. He's looking to replace his 57-plate preFL octy and every new car which is the "same" size seems to be *just* too wide

Was thinking about a nearly new Superb, but waiting for one of these might be worth it :) If they put a meatier engine in the 4x4.

That's nice. A bit like a mini-Superb in terms of looks/class.

Can't see that happening, I'm guessing the two petrol engines will be 1.2 and 1.4.

I dont believe that will be the case as both are too limp to power the 4x4 models imo. We'll just have to wait and see what happens six months down the line. :)

I have trouser movement over the new estate

I want this so bad. So tomorrow i will order one in Raceblue or White (not sure yet) 1,4 140 Hp i have already ordered 19" wheels for it. So July cant come soon enough. :sun:

Just a shame they have designed it with the front wing being a different color... :bandit:

Skoda Octavia Harlequin Limited Edition planned for August then?

Looks good. Any idea on the premium over the hatch

Want this, but needs 1.8TSI engine.

I'd love a vRS estate.

it's ok, the left hand side is ok

Crikey, it's huge! 11cm longer than the hatchback!?! Still, it looks a lot better than the hatchback, though I wish the roof rails were more integrated. Having now seen the official photies and details, I want.

Holding judgement till I see the actual thing.

Not wanting to go against the grain, but I do slightly feel that the Rapid and new Octavia are a little Euro boxy. Some of the Skoda identity may be lost. I still think the Mk2 FL takes some beating.

that is a nice car and looks so much better than the hatch, i would like to see a good few of them on the road

I actually prefer the non-integrated rails - means I don't have to stump up for new feet every time I change cars and means you actually have a rail to tie a rope / strap to when you have something on the cross bars - sadly missing with the new integrated stuff.

Where did you find the dimensions of the estate? Assuming you are right, 4659mm + 110 = 4769mm - wow, that is bigger than my 4750mm A4 Avant! I really hope they will be available by early July when my company car is due to change. AutoExpress says "...on sale shortly after its debut in Geneva" but a dealer I spoke to last week said 6 months after the hatch... I'll take a 2.0D Elegance, please.

"It has a 610-litre boot with the seats up – 20 litres more than the hatch"

So that extra lump on the back just gets you an extra 20 litres? Doesn't seem worth the (possibly) £1000 over the hatch for that.

It's not just about the loadspace though - estates are (generally) much easier to load due to the larger opening and flat load-bay.

:giggle:

Only if you spec the variable boot floor ….madness :wall:

I thought the capacity is only calculated to the window line of the vehicle?
