Bloody copy cat! I beat you to that one though :p

You are not alone  :) I tried to get a pic as it's my first new car of all the actual odo matches like 1111, 2222, 3333 etc etc but I missed a couple  :(

I messed up on this one by a few meters pulling into a car park then thinking I could make it into the space....

  • Ta da. This happened this afternoon, I'm very pleased it.     Luckily I was able to pull off the main road and stop at the right time. My Maths was obviously right when I reset the trip.

  • I had to do this once I realised it was possible.............(i.e. I hadn't passed the mileage yet, so could reset the T1):

  • TaDa     As you can see I've dusted too! :p

You might've 'messed up', but I only had a technically inexact measurement of longitudinal distance  :notme:

Don't try and tarnish me with your messed uppedness, else my Mum's gonna hear about you!

Yep, t'was the lovely MrsV6TDI with her trusty iPhone.  We were in traffic on the A31 at Wimborne, Dorset.  No chance to pull over safely in the circumstances, so she leant over and tapped her phone several times.  Got an odd photo in between 31 and 32mph:

That would be 31.5mph then :D

At 203300miles, the octavia is no longer with me.. 75k in 4yr10months..

Now looking at 118k on my 09 insignia SE 160.

Im both sad and happy... sad the octy has moved on, happy as the insignia is a much nicer place to be..

You kept that quiet :o Can't believe you have left me all alone as the last Mk1 TDi Octy owner in all of Ireland! Are you looking at an Opel or the inferior build quality version of the Insignia? Can I not interest you in a nice Superb from up here? Some nice Mk2's floating about for not a lot of money, get in while you can before EU exit stops the cheap route to getting a used car

Well the leaky steering rack kinda accelerared plans :( and after much donedealing and carzoning, the Opel Insignia with full dealer history and 160bhp kinda ended up the best value... i couldnt keep putting fluid in every 2 days and i got a really good deal on the Siggy (my new nickname for it) even with leaking rack, missing boot strut, worn seats, Massive road tax (673/yr...) etc etc..

i didnt want to say anything in case i jinxed it!

Anyway, we still have swmbo's Citigo, and only thimg that will be changed for is a Furby when the time comes :)

Its also worth saying, i did up a spreadsheet and worked out a scoring ststem to make the decision.. and there was a Superb and a mk2 vrs octy on the short list. But both lost out due to age and mileage.. ill be back in a skoda again, in a couple of yrs :) when they might be abit better value down here.

Do they not still work out a lot cheaper bought from up here and paying any VRT? same mileage as the Insignia in a 2009/2010 Mk2 Superb seem to float around the £5000-£5500 mark.

Yeah, but id not really much time to **** around going looking.. the fluid loss went from negligible to daily topup in a week! And i need xar for work (im just at site now...)
