Saw another VRS owner today ...

Featured Replies

Grey VRS hatch 12 plate through Raydon, Suffolk. Looked nice!

Also, I'm now on 2500 miles and have noticed lumpy idle recently when starting up while cold. Revs around 1000 rpm.

I use super unleaded all the time.

Nothing to worry about?

Should I get it checked?....

Good news... I've used no oil from new to 2500 miles.

HAPPY DAYS!

How have you run it in?

Erm, I have driven it like I've stolen it a few times, and cruised about just as much so I would say I've driven it normally. I don't really follow all the 'don't rev over 4000 rpm' nonsense for 1000 miles. I've just enjoyed it. :)

I commute about 20 miles a day for 5 days driving it slowly and sensibly.. and then weekends I give it some beans.

Anyone got any ideas about the lumpy idle? I've seen it mentioned a few times on here before..?

Mine does it, sometimes more noticeable. Apparently nothing to worry about.

Fair enough... I'm not that bothered about it, just seems weird considering if I was sitting in a 25 grand Audi a1 with this engine in or a Scirocco or whatever.. I would not deem that acceptable haha!

Oh wells!

There was an ECu update a while back which cured the lumpy cold tickover.

I had lumpy idel and also took a long time to start when you turned the key, I had the fuel pump and injectors replaced and now I have no lumpy idel.

Mine did it too - update cured lumpy ness but it still idled over 1k at start up for a while.

Rapid with new 1.2tsi 105 starts and no lumpy idle or high revs at start.

Must just be the vRS. I do miss the performance a bit and the noise!

Ah cool! cheers for your help guys! Do you know when the update was issued? My car was a Jan 2013 build so i assume it would already have the update? I may ring Skoda up and ask them.
