Last week I bought me a new Skoda octavia mrk3 and looking forward to recieving it in September.

To this I have chosen to buy a Amundsen navigation, but since there is no dealer in Denmark who have this exhibited, i therefore have some Quistion i like to ask.

How is it to use? How is the software deliverid? on SD card og CD?

Can it be updatede?

And:)

Is there someone that might have the unit, and can take som pictures of it?

or even better a link to the manual?

Hi Martin. I do not have the Amundsen satnav but if you do a Google search for "amundsen satnav" there is a lot of info and some pictures. I am sure other members will let you have more info but in the meantime you will see what it looks like.

I have the new Amundsen nav and love it! It took a little time to get used to having used TomTom for the last decade but I now prefer it, I especially like the information on the colour maxi dot . The touch screen is good and you can change map scale with two fingers moving in of out like with an iPad. There is the complete manual online, I dont know how to put a link up unfortunately but I'm sure someone on this site has, so try a search om site. The software is via an SD card on in the UK we get three years free updates, my dealer doesn't know how yet but I'm sure they will soon... Looking at the VW Golf system which is the same they just update it Online via a home computer.

I've found it... Bassebas posted the owners manual on this forum on the 31st Jan, half way down the post he posts all the infotainment manuals including the one for the Amundsen. Just search manuals on the Octavia3 forum.

Hi Martin

The maxi dot display shows what road you're on and distance to the next junction, at junctions/ roundabouts you get pictorial guidance as to where to go together with voice guidance. The main map display automatically changes scale when you enter urban areas.

I'm enjoying the 1.4 engine it's quiet, smooth with plenty of go and appears economical. I have only tried the normal mode so far, I'll try the sport and economy modes when I've put a few miles on the car

I have just bought the Fabia 1.6tdi Monte Carlo (2013). Great vehicle

 

I cannot find a UK dealer who will supply and retrofit the Amundsen SatNav system

 

I've written to Skoda Head Office but no response

 

Any heads up?
