True, but we all knew what yours was going to be before they were done, you just keep banging it in

I take it yours is bog standard?

How very 'different' of you :)

Different isn't always better. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Standard then

Standard then

Mine is standard bar eibachs. Its staying that way because it looks great.

Don't cry because I don't like tinted rear lights!

It's not something I've ever thought of doing but definitely gives it more presence, especially with it being black. Got a photo of the whole side of the car? Just to see what it's like with the fronts in shot too

Sorry but that looks really bad imo. Too boyracer for me.

And your premonition from another thread, as a reminder

Spi vision looks awful sorry. May as well go all 90's and tie some tights around your lights!

nope, driveways too narrow, but I'll get one at some point :) the rear light clusters were the only think on the car that wasn't black or tinted, so stood out like a sore thumb.... this completes the look nicely I think :)

I'm not crying, it's not my car

Just stop playing the same old record, we heard it the first time

And my 'premonition', or opinion based on seeing many bad modifications in my time, has been justified. IMO. Get over it.

I was over it before you posted it, as we all knew what you were going to say

Now move on and criticise someone else's car :)

Failing that, post a full picture of yours, if you dare ;)

Sorry but I don't like it either!

I'm leaving the engine alone... gave it a proper thrash today, and weirdly it seems much quicker than the old one! :o seems to hold the power better to 7k, doesn't seem to have that drop off at 6k that the old one did... (could just be placebo effect)

just through lazyness I'll leave the dunlops on until Nov when it will get winters, then they will be on ebay, and I will return to maxxis z1's which are miles better in all areas......

I may go more with the suspension... RARB and Bislstien shocks maybe..... the shocks are expensive though... I dont mind if the suspension looses warrenty, but i'm not touching the engine , want engine and DSG warrenty! lol...

Why don't you change the maxxis on your for sale alloys and put the Dunlops on them?

Good idea with they engine and dsg, i'd not tinker with it either lol

just because these wheels are new and have been superguarded..... I could change them over, but then I might go for some RSR's next year, depends on funds ...... just me being lazy again really! lol..

I mean keep wheels just change tyres over.

I like the effect of the fly eyes from a distance.

Paticularly on a black car, it's up close that lets

it down, I tried some on my Fabia but was not over the moon on the

upclose appearance. I tried Lamin X in a part tint (Just over the clear bits

of pre facelift rear clusters) and it looked factory tbh. It also polished up nicely

and shone well. I'd recommend the subtle tint variant on yours which will give a classy

finish but if you really want to go dark then use the gunsmoke. Still lets plenty of light through,

is reversible, and is a special breathable vinyl so any small bubbles will sort themselves out

leaving a perfect finish. I'll happily pm you some hints for application, it's harder to do than

fly eyes but if you are patient and use enough heat you can get an excellent finish.

The cheaper copy stuff isn't as good (have tried both) and if you're going to do it

then I'd say go with genuine lamin x.

That is the only thing I do not like about vRS, back clusters - sore thumb indeed!

Garry, PM plz with hints and details in lamin x plz as I want to do it :).

Sorry also not a fan of the fly-eye / DIY tinted lights look but each to their own and all that. If we all liked the same thing life would be pretty dull. If Sharkrider likes them that's all that matters!

As another owner of an all-black stealth machine, I like the blending in of the darker lights. I really like the front lamps with the black inserts and would like to tone down the rears, but not sure of the best way to do it. The only other thing that stands out in my opinion is the bright chrome grill badge, be nice if some dark chrome badges were available...

Gotta say I'm lovin this black vRS estate, looks mean!

Have to agree with Garry, fly eyes up close doesn't do it for me. Never used the stuff but seen it up close on a yellow mk1 Fabia vRS and didn't like it, much prefer the Lamin-X I have on and found it easy to apply using a mist of water on the headlights as makes it easier to pull away and re-apply if say wrong. (my tip for Jab!)

I know it's not everyone cuppa, but I think it finishes it off Sharkrider, although IMO a bit OTT with the stickers, but each to their own!

I just realised that my neighbour is a professional tinter and automotive glass specialist (he does very rare classics among other things) so I have to ask !

Soapy water works better, thoroughly clean and degrease the light clusters.

Mist both the light fitting and the sticky side of the Lamin x (backing paper off)

with soapy spray (Couple of squirts of washing up liquid in trigger bottle with water is ideal),

then try and work the largest area first and get that bubble free before you start on bends

and corners, that's when you can use the hairdryer to get some stretch.

I've always done it lights taken off the car but some say doing it on the car is easier

as the car holds the light fitting still for you. Just be really careful when trimming not to damage

paint if you do them on the car.

Loads of how tos here.
