I know, seems less special in that respect, but I still prefere it to the old one because of the better paddles...

I cant remember , it was all just added to the finance deal, means its hardly any more a month....

only done 30 miles so far! lol..... driven it normally though..... its just been running with traffic on a-roads in D most of the time, one full throttle full revs overtake of a lorry, and some paddle shifting on my fave road home.... so just exactly the same as I'd drive my old car.... it had that kind of new engine burning smell when i got home, but i remember minty doing the same, so i'm not worried, I 'll keep driving it normally... gentle drive to work tomorow, blast home and same until i go to the midlands meet on Sat when it will have some motorway work..... in 3 weeks its "how fast" where it'll go round the track... i expect to have about 1-2k on by then....

Brilliant! Will be very good to have some comparison between what I did and what you are doing. Keep us posted!

BTW - I love that aditional pedal in passenger's footwell

his n hers ;) "black and white"

Looks very nice -the reflection in the black paintwork looks like a white stripe -which would be a great contrast with Ash's Citigo

She is beautiful Sharkrider! Plus a good place to put the sticker! I've got the same colour in the same place. Looks smart!

Well the tight engine hasn't effected economy, 47.6 on the way to work this morning, seems promising!

Just say it, you are rolling downhill all the time! Or tailgate lorries - I am yet to get that mpg...

Maybe it's just the nature of my commute, trust me, it's not downhill, it's 20 miles each way, and I live in the lakes! It IS however all A-road and about one mile of town, do mostly 60 mph....

I found it easier to get high mpg near yours than where I commute...

It just proves how different people can get completely different fuel consumption from exactly the same car... Hence MPG threads are rather pointless. We should have a sticky, like a disclaimer, describing the basics of MPG etc :p

I agree, my trip to and from work is mainly A/B roads, 30mph/60mph and about 5 mins of town traffic. On a good run 50+ is achievable but driving super economical. That can change depending on something as small as a car pulling out in front of me to simply the amount of wind. I'm getting 39MPG average at the moment which I think is perfectly acceptable.

choice of names.. (its a him) "stealth" or "panther" :)

driving home in the dark, its suprisingly different to my old car, the throttle response, and gear choices in auto are not the same.... I prefere the throttle response in manual, i can use full throttle without activating the kickdown in a higher gear, i could never do that in the old car, a stiffer kickdown switch I think (because it will still kick down if mashed to the floor)

How do you find the lights on this one?

  • Author

weirdly a bit better.... still a massive difference between dip and full beam.... on dip you can actually see "projections" instead of just a dim pool of light.... I was always happy enough with the old lights anyway (and it never blew a bulb in 50k!)

do you know (or anyone) if they are H4's ? I have been donated some barely used phillips extream....... (and some LED number plate lights!)

Nice, must've been built the same time as mine, same colour, wheels, but mines just a hatch. Must admit I think it does need lowering as standard as there's too much roll for my liking. Starting think maybe I should've gone for an estate instead now...

the handling is way different to the standard springs.... I've yet to do enough miles or push it hard to do a proper review yet, but I will! and you can buy the spings and have them fitted (from skoda so you keep your warrenrt) at any time..

So what you gonna name it?

I'd go for the 'Dark Destroyer', unless there's one out there already

Remember Nigel Benn? :)

wing mirror stickers... think I will leave the IRC stickers above the repeaters..

Dave the skoda sticker on the wing mirror is totally naff IMO , it will be a bonnet bra next "STOP" adding clutter FFS

It will be gold rims next :p

B*ll*cks!

Some things really do become tedious after hearing it time after time after time

It's a great looking rig, Dave, mean as fook :)

As for the name, I'm leaning towards 'sith' ;)
