Picked up a new 2014 Octavia VRS CR hatchback in candy white on the 31st March, i originally went in to order a new VRS estate in candy white with a few extras, but was told the delivery time could be 3 - 6 months, however they had a new Candy white VRS CR hatchback in the showroom, with most of the basic options i wanted, colour maxi dot, cruise control, space saver, winter pack(heated seats, washer jets and windscreen), sunset glass, black design pack and boot liner, the other options i wanted was full leather and variable boot floor, but that is for estate only.

 

After agreeing to buy the car i was able to pick it up about 3 hours later that day.

Very happy with it apart from the increase in road & wind noise. But as I was coming from a Superb II Estate I should have expected it to be louder.

Pretty chuffed. Brother in law is a signwriter, so will get him to wrap the roof in 3M carbon fibre vinyl, along with the wing mirrors. Will order the VW chrome key bottoms (x2), door sill scuff plates from superskoda, LED interior light kit (boot and map lights) - long term will do the amient lighting once someone figures it out. Would like the DTM front spoiler from superskoda also, but will wait till the car gets here before any major purchases.

 

Should look pretty good as a run-about for the wife and kids. Now, the awful 3-4 month wait!

I am seriously considering almost the same spec - funny but there are a few of us in Australia who are ordering manuals...

 

One weird thing - if the A+ has only standard AC not climate control, why do we need a humidity sensor in the mirror ?

Yeah its funny how many people ive spoken to who if manual wagons were readily available, they would have bought it on the spot. Unfortunately for us aussies, VW Australia controls skoda, and they purposfully nueter it to make sure it doesnt take any VW sales. Which is stupid, as VW dont offer a manual wagon in anything but pov spec. I figure if we have to order the car, why cant they allow us to choose any combination we want, any options?

 

Oh well, i'm happy with what I ordered, just the long, painful wait now. (then some mucking around with tint, vinyl wrap and accessories from superskoda when the car gets here)

You can't actually buy a manual Golf wagon at all in Australia according to the website.  You used to be able to buy a manual 132TSI Tiguan but that has gone now too.

 

VW AU will soon be 100% DSG the way they are going.

I've just had a build week of 25 confirmed (Octavia vRS wagon - black) - can anyone tell me what approx date that is? Of course it's a little irrelevant as I have to wait for it to be shipped to NZ...

Apologies for the silly question, I've done some research and found the build week is just weeks of the year. 25 is 16th of June. Which is much sooner than I expected!

Yeah, mid-late June.  Assume 6 - 8 weeks to ship and you will hopefully have it time for spring
