Taken this off the road today as a new job means I'll be working away for 12 weeks and only need the one car.

This gives me time to get all the bits together that I need and to get it all done in one hit.

Milltek Exhaust & de-cat

6 branch stainless manifold

Stripping has commenced!

Had to lower the beam to get the milltek on as the bk box and middle box are welded instead of being separate. The old system was a mare to remove, think they were still the original bolts! Rusted, seized you name it.

Managed to get one side stripped of the disc/pads and bearings but again everything was seized. The Allen bolts that the carriers are held on by are now not Allen bolts lol, the mole grips took care of that. The other side is still seized solid so I've drowned them in wd and left to soak.

There was much swearing and loss of skin to hands and knuckles, it also came close to getting a hammer through the roof.

A quick coffee & fag break made me see sense :)

Seized as you like!

Not so seized!

keep a cool head mate, after all it is only a car  :wonder:    I know what you mean about getting the exhaust off, I took the scorpion system off the MK 3 I had, after hours messing with the clamps and rubbers I just unbolted the brackets from the car floor and took the lot off, then simply re-hang your rubbers on the Milltek and re-bolt the whole systems to the underside of the floor. BE CAREFUL NOT TO SHEAR THE BOLTS!!!!!

I'm going to have a crack at it again today. Hopefully get the rear hub stripped and get the rest of the system on ;)

it works then!

Not frickin cool!!

that is going to fun to remove, maybe a good clean with the wire brush and then grab it with mole grips if there is enough to grab, if not then it will be a drill and easy out job, unlucky mate.

Tried the grips, tried welding a bolt on & did start to drill but my drill are cack lol

It'll have to wait till I'm bk next weekend now.

Need heat to get that bad boy stud out mate.

Move the brake lines out of the way, Weld a nut onto it with a really good weld, Get it RED Hot then it should just slip out, Had the same problem on the 5 Last week on the zorst.

Quick question: Why are you taking the stub axels off? are they too pitted for new bearings??
