Looks a tidy project matey. Love the sound of the vr6. Heres some pics of my mates turbo'd 24v converted vr6

  • Dan's done an awesome job, over the moon with them and how the colours turned out. If anybody's after any work doing then give dan a shout or like his page on fb. https://m.facebook.com/Dan.Wass.Cus

My Vento was like that :D

What front indicators was it running?

Looked at led strips & small led motorbike indicators ;)

I had R32-style front lights, adapted so that the fake indicators actually worked, I had some of the first RHD sets that InPro made.... £280 at the time :o

Ahhhhh man!

Back to scouring eBay for non china based lights then haha

Before I'd swapped to a Golf front end, I was looking at some Mk2 Golf indicators on the outter lower grille parts

  • Author

Yeah someone's mentioned those, hidden behind the lower grills

Yeah, that was the idea. I also thought about drilling some orange LED pods into either the side or base of the headlights

Spacers ordered, 20mm hubcentric bolt on's rear and 10mm hubcentrics for the front.

Wheels are primed and will be painted this week.

Found some 195/45/16 toyo t1 proxies for a good price so need to get them ordered along with the rear brakes/bearings. Chase the rear camber shims up then it's ready to mot. :)

That filters tiny lol

  • Author

Lol, normally they come smaller but this is a universal one and was cheaper than the actual vr kit.

Coming together now Si, should be on the road just in time for the first snow  :giggle:   but remember perfection can't be rushed.

On the other hand, my car is shedding more and more weight, all the carpets have gone today and the sound deadening, centre console, gear stick gaiter and the multi play cd changer too, she is still a fat pig though and a lot more has to be removed yet, including A/C, all electric window motors and side impact bars.

No aircon on mine or that'd be off to free up some revs, I have found an sai blank that I might try out :)

Just had a 3rd stand offer off vr6oc.com and had to turn them down aswell as ukmk3s and mk3 owners club as the bloody thing won't be ready in time! :(

Is it a case of not enough hours or just getting the stuff together in time?

  • Author

Mixture of both pal. Working away 6 days a week and waiting on stuff is not a good combination lol

Tad excited :)

All smooth & ready for paint!

The idea is to repair the already smoothed panel & smooth the swage line out

Rear shims will be ready tomorrow so I'll collect them Saturday, got a mate coming over to roll the front arches on Sunday.

Wheels are bk this week so hopefully if I grab the brakes and bearings this week I can have a mock up ready for dropping it bk onto its wheels when I've got some tyres :)

Front spacers have arrived :)

  • Author

Due to not being able to get the right colour, the wheel colour has changed again!

Hopefully the new one will work. If not then **** it.
