What is this?

Featured Replies

Folks, what is this in the pic? A fixing plate for sat nav / dash cam or a sensor... or something else?

I want to stick my GoPro cam to it!

Cheers.

If it's nothing that looks like something, why is it there? :wall:

I think its for auto lights I think but not sure

Do you have climate control?

If so it could be the sunlight sensor for that.

I had climate control on my fabia it was still like this, however didn't have auto lights

Its nothing

It has to be something, if it was nothing it wouldn't be there.

Does look like the sin sensor for the climate control (assuming the car has this fitted)

Press it and you'll soon find out. Adds 100bhp and 100lbft instantly ;-)

I do have climate control yes. There's nothing in the manual about it though.

No auto lights though.

The fact its not mentioned in the manual shouldn't be surprising.

You talking about your spotted ****? Its there but doesn't do anything since your banned lol :D

Ha ha.

As above, its the sun sensor for the CC. It detects out when the sun is shining on the car and ups the blower / lowers the temperature to keep the car cool.

I had cc on fabia didn't mention this ?

My guess, just a cover for a screw for disassembling the rest of the cover above the speedometer.

Interesting, I shouldn't cover that with a camera then. Lol.

Thanks for the replies.

Ah we have someone with sense :)

Is there anything similar looking in the centre of the dash, in the middle of the windscreen vent?

Its actually nothing just part of the dash. All Fabia MK2s are the same.

The climatronic on the Fabia is fairly basic, single zone and no solar sensor

I like it. I like it a lot. I'd say I was technically minded but beer got in the way this evening. Lol.

Thanks.
