vRS Configurator up and running

Featured Replies

I believe its simply too expensive with not enough discount. But thats just my opinion.

As a Fleet buyer the P11D has gone up significantly . Much as I dont want too I can Vauxhall Astra / Insignia Estates with 40 % off. Yes I know they are worth bugger all after 3 years but the figures still stack heavily against Skoda.

Well for me it's mainly to have a better look at the car, since the Romanian one is quite horrible design/graphics wise. The base and option prices are obviously not the same and it seems not even the same options being available right now.

I did spec one (TSI DSG estate) and wound up to 32655...

27.3k for hatch TSi DSG with a few decent options.

So with a discount of about 3k in a year off DTD we come in at 24k. So I reckon nice specced 3 Year old one will be about 10-12k mileage dependant...that will do me.

And by judging by the amount of people on here about to order I should be able to get one from a forum member that has kept it tidy and specced it well, so long as I offer £100 over the GFV!

£28760 for my Combi vRS (but it does have all the toys my Elegence will have)

So with a discount of about 3k in a year off DTD

You can get that now...

3D seems to work now. Though cant seem to change the wheels.

Just under 28k for me which will be spot on for my next company car :)

Meteor combi petrol manual with columbus, s/roof, heated seats and pretty the same options as i have on this one.

No mention of MDI? Is that now "AMI"? Same thing or not?

I think the combi needs the 19" wheel option though, so i might need to add those too..

Don't go for the 19" unless you really really hate your kidneys...

Configured my ideal vRS estate and it came to exactly 10 grand more than I paid for my MK1 nine years ago.

Obviously inflation, and a significantly more advanced, well-specced car.

Not that I'm changing, but I wonder when they will bring the vRS here. Or even the Mk3 for that matter.

Some of you guys must be like kids in a sweet shop with this! I've configured a good spec petrol hatch and it only comes to a snip under 25k! And with drive the deal offering 12% off already I think they offer great value for money. Here's hoping the PCP on petrol isnt to harsh regards the gmfv

Bit of haggling, I could get that down a bit I reckon, and could get 4K trade in for mine, so let's just call it a round 20K I need to find down the back of the sofa?

TSi manual hatch or estate in candy white with anthracite geminis (assume they are the standard wheel in the UK), cruise control, black pack, amundsen and canton would do me just fine.

Think its v easy to go overboard with the options. As it stands the MK3 is considerably better specified than the MK2 and most of what id have chosen on the MK2 is already on the car. Lack of standard cruise is a problem for me (and massively pikey Skoda UK - shame on you) so id have that, car shoulsnt have chrome and paying to have it removed is also a crime but a must IMO. Couldnt live without factory nav now ive had it and i love my music so Canton would be the 2nd indulgence. Still dont really understand why someone would take a 24k car and spec it 30k+, most of the toys are v gimmicky and could be lived without I reckon.

Almost exactly the same as me.  The only real difference was the two side safety options as well, for the kids.  What are people's thoughts on those?

yeah i has specced these aswell, they arent too clear what they are, side and curtain airbags? but i would get them, put it this way id rather spend a little extra on safety than a gimic parking assisstant or similar :)

yip fully agree, some will use them all the time so cant comment on people wishing to do it but not for me anymore, been there and done that, money into most extras is money lost anyways :)

Car comes with curtain and driver knee airbag as per MK6/7 Golf. Rear airbags are for rear side and probably not advisable with children/child seats IMO and make airbag count up to 9

Was shocked to see heated windscreen as an option as well!

I guess you can use the air con but the heated screen was still part of the spec on the poverty spec 9 year old Mondeo I'm currently enduring.

Yeah but Ford owned the rights then, when they first launched it only the better spec Fords had it.

I've got one on one of my cars and tbh it ain't a big deal but for £200 it's worth speccing.

Not that simple, I'm afraid. If you want the heated windscreen you have to order the winter pack (adds heated seats and heated washer nozzles)= £430 total.

£430 or wait a minute for **** to defrost any way.

Have a heated screen on my current Mazda and I have found it superb. In winter the screen is clear in around a minute, with no messing about

It was on VAT free deal tho currently this one isn't so not fair to compare.

Compare list price with list price and you get an idea

VAT free was a perpetual offer. It was "standard discount". It didn't end for years. We all knew it was like DFS sofa "last weekend" sales. Fan boys or not, we all understood that we pay £16k for OTR vRS because that's exactly what it was worth. By the time you added the toys you were few grand short of base Golf GTI price - the choice was simple. Asking GTI money for vRS is just silly of VAG to do. It's like barely surviving the rise and fall of Seat (anyone remember Leon Cupra scenario) and not learning anything. You wouldn't pay Rolex prices for a knock off. You wouldn't pay Florida money to holiday in Brighton. You cannot ask GTI money for vRS. I don't care how close it is to the real thing and what satisfaction surveys claim, vRS has neither residual values, stamina, quality of build, options nor standard of Golf GTI. I love Skoda as much as the next briskodian but we shouldn't be asked to pay more to get less.

Back in 2010 top of the line L&K with TSI DSG and every single option added including sunroof would set you back about £18k. Delivered to your door. Today that's starting price for bare SE model. I'm sorry, but that's not inflation. That's trolling. One should not feed the trolls. I say bring the perpetual VAT free or GTFO.

I actually think the heated windscreen is a great option, especially if you don't garage your car at night, and for that reason I specced the winter pack on my Elegance.

I am new to the brand, but to me it seems:

  • We are where we are
  • You pays your money and you takes your choice
  • It's a market economy
  • If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen

Clichés all...

Probably nice to have, though I would use it a handful of times a year so not worth it in this case. :)

Same locale as you and use mine regularly in the winter mornings to great effect. I wouldn't want to be without one now! :)
