Don't get me wrong. I've pointed out in the past that if we use it we should pay for it. You don't get owt for nowt.

As for not knowing, I haven't been as 'active' over the last few months so missed you actually taking the bull by the horns and sorting out Briskoda's finances. Everyone just ummed and arred before...

Ah twas only an idea....which was taken on board by the powers that be ( Colin ) and which, hopefully will bear nice ripe fruit !

I'll defo be making a donation, I had to change the CC on paypal so I am waiting for the relevant code to activate the new card. Then the donation will be winging its way.

tis all verily appreciated!

... must admit, I got baffled with Pay Pal so gave up and have now gone back to the old fashioned ways I am more comfortable with - nothing wrong with a cheque! Anyone got an old bloke smiley? :D

There is nothing wrong with that -- I'm sure if you PM colin he'll drop you an address to send a cheque to.

I Believe other forms of payment are being looked at(nochex) the more method's the better.

I will happily make a donation when I get round to sending off for my stickers, but I wont touch nochex or paypal with a barge pole. Unfortunately I have seen and heard of too many problems with them with-holding monies, not accepting passwords etc etc.And seeing as "cash" is of more benefit in that all goes to the relevant place, unless I hear otherwise my donation will be in the form of a cheque, attatched to the stickers fee (ie a larger stickers fee so to speak)

Cheers

As has been said before,no-one is being forced either to contribute on the first place - or contribute via Paypal or Nochex - they are just another means to an end.

The more choice there is - the more likely people are to contribute.

The more people that contribute - the more that other things can be done, the more the site can grow & improve without advertising.

I realise that, and dont feel pressured into anything. I was merely putting my point of view across regarding these so called "easier" online payment methods thats all.

Good, the last thing I wanted to do was make anyone feel they "Had" to contribute.

Any contributions must be on a voluntary basis, anything else and it would just not be Briskoda -- it would effect the way it run's.

I like they way it's run now - very open, very friendly(most of the time ) and very helpfull.

Pro's - Con's - Con's - Pro's, does not really matter, if you want to contribute then do so, if not then don't, no one is being forced to part with their hard earned cash, and if you don't contribute you are not going to be excluded nor persecuted. But the more that is contributed means that the administrators do not have to look at other ways to keep the site running, eg. sponsors, eg. pop ups. I like this site, it has, over the past year been very informative and I now know more about my car than I did about any other car that I have ever owned, and it has also given me the opportunity to meet a bunch of great guys (and gals) that share a common interest. As for the tax question, this site is here to supply information to a group of 500 plus individuals, and all the administrators are doing is paying the bill for these individuals, it's a bit similair to have a kittie for a stag night being held by one person. :mw:

Ok, as this site (via Adrian) is about to save me a good amount of cash on a Jabba re-map, i think its only fair that i make a contribution.

I am more than happy to do this, BUT i don't trust these online payment systems. Wasnt paypal compromised not so long ago?

So, the question is, can i pay "over the odds" for a couple of stickers? I know the addy is [email protected], this is Colin i presume ?

And are the stickers still available, or is the direct contribution the way of paying the bills now ?

As far as I know the stickers will always be available as a mean's of contributing.....but I'm sure one of the mods will confirm this for you.

I think you will be able to make a direct contribution if you wish -- just drop them a line and they will give the address for you.

It's good to see that people want to contribute towards the site.
