Potentially controversial.... Why do people.....

Featured Replies

A friend of mine works for a company who produce vinyl stickers for cars etc.. She was telling me how they recently did a job for a lad who'd spent the best part of 20k modding his Saxo.

Apparently it started life as a brand new standard VTR but now has a tuned VTS engine, wide arch body kit, black bonnet with glitter effect in the paint, full lether interior and lots of other chavtastic accessories including a booming stereo and tv screens etc.

True, but it's each to his (or her) own and thats what makes this country great :)

There are always going to be a crazy few who do this or that that the rest of us think is mad.

My wheels arn't to everyones tastes but i'm not listening to anyone else, i love em! :D

That's the way Mr T - tell it how is and put your foot down ... darn... :D

Well, I'm not QUITE that bad, but I've just taken a car worth around 5 grand, and spent almost the same again on it, or at least may have by the time all is done and dusted at the end of July. :o

I like being different which is why I did it. :) I "could" have got a brand new Fabia vRS for about

I can certainly see your point, and it doesn't sound like that Saxo would be to my taste either...but if you have to ask why he's done it, there's no point in explaining it to you anyway - you wouldn't understand

Sorry if this is a little controversial on what is essentially a car modding forum but..... whats the point ? Surely a

At the end of the day it's down to whatever floats your boat.

Houses are boring as **** - I wish I'd never bought one.

I suppose hes like a lot of people, he probably started small, some lowering springs etc and before he knew it he's spent 10k and cant stop. I'd love to convert the furby in to a wrc lookalike, i wonder how much that would cost!

Think it's like Pringles.Once you start,you can't stop :)

have to agree

at the end of our time we'll own our house!

so what good will it actually do us eh?

Looking back i wish we'd spent more time having fun and less being responsible - perhaps if we had i wouldn't be such a miserable sod now :o

Fair play to the guy. I don't like saxo's, and I don't like "need for speed" type mods either, but if he is happy with it, who or you, me or anyone to critisize his pride and joy. I realise the point you are making is the

he's not the first to have spent that sort of money on a saxo. back in my saxo days (oh the shame of it all) a fair few of the "saxosportsclub" members has spent an excess of

Have you got max power stickers on your fryers?

Why? Because I have an opinion?

Do you know, when Max Power was launched, it was a very very good read. I'm talking about before all the 84 pages of adverts for woofers and tweeters and sex lines and everything else that has made them alot of cash were slotted in there instead of editorial.

But like everything else, times change, trends move on, opinions differ, but some people, they can't cope with it, and think that everything they don't agree with is wrong.

I don't read max power, because I don't personally like looking at page after page of adverts, but I do like folks who like to be original or dare to be different. The world would be a really dull place otherwise. Almost as dull as Max Power "jokes" and references to violent council house dwellers.

i can see what everyone is saying but i understand why the bloke spends the money, my VRS was a company car and when i moved job the car i took on was a 54 BMW 330CI, the company didnt want the vrs so i brought it, the missus was well annoyed, couldnt see why i needed 2 cars etc etc, but i still pay to have work done on the Octavia and to be honest its more fun for me to drive that then the BMW, the company pay the fuel on the BMW and i still get in the skoda at the weekend, mods are addictive and can seriously damage the bank balance but if i wasnt spending my money on the skoda i'd find some other thing to waste it on.
