Quick update - new spray paints ordered for the theme change. Stencils also on the way too...

 

Plus, these are being shipped off today and the next time you see them they will be big and banded... and in matte black

 

Right, the wheels have gone, so time to crack on with the addons. My spray paint collection is getting a little large, so time to use some of it up!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately the chrome has lost a bit of shine after the lacquer was added (it was extremely polished-looking ) but they still came out well.

I'm now waiting on some centre caps to arrive (similar to the ones found on American muscle cars - the type that stick out a couple of inches). These will be painted chrome too and then have chrome / black Skoda badges added to them. Hopefully they'll fit

Yup - spot on. Should look similar to these, but not quite as epic:

 

 

Mine will have chrome bolt covers and centre caps though

 

 

Time for more updates! Today's jobs:

- Respray rear diffuser from anthracite to matte black

- Refitted rear black Lexus lights

- Refitted WRC spoiler (properly)

- Sort out back box so it's centered again

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So the car is now 100% fully murdered-out. The spoiler still doesn't sit perfectly, even after drilling new holes in the boot. It's slighted twisted (that's how it arrived) but it's much better than before.

 

I needed to test the lights to make sure they were all working properly. Had to film it as obviously I can't stick the car in reverse and have a look behind This is how they light up:

 

 

 

Really need to get that left fog light wired up, looks terrible.

Yup, 16x7.5 on the fronts and 16x8.5 on the rears.

 

I know for a fact that 17" steelies exist, but never heard of 18" ones.

 

 

You should speak to Damian at Banded Steel Wheels - these are the guys working on mine and they can do pretty much anything you want

For 18 inch versions you have to use golf r32 space savers and have them banded as they are 18 inch.

Small update: my custom made "MFP" stencils have arrived!

 

 

2 large ones will be for the front doors and the small one is for the rear. I've also got some gold spray paint, so just need some decent weather and the theme change begins

I've now been shopping in the US and have managed to acquire some hub caps that actually fit 5x100! Might need a bit of fiddling to make them fit 100% though.

 

 

 

They're brand spanking new and were made for a 1989 Chevrolet Beretta. I might just keep them as they are, rather than paint them and brand them up with Skoda badges. Very 80's retro

 

There was also a nice sunset today, so decided to take an artsy shot and photoshop it.

 

 

 

Things moving forward rather quickly now... just hope my wheels get returned soon so I can slap some tyres on them.

I started following them on Facebook a few weeks back when I noticed Rob was following them. Shame I don't have the money & logistics to do something similar :(

Well... when the company I've sent them to actually bother to get back to me. Since they've taken the wheels they haven't contacted me at all, even though I've e-mailed them a few times now. I get that companies are busy, but a quick e-mail only takes 30 seconds!

Beretta centres have arrived from 'murica. Absolutely mint for 20+ years old! Just need to work out how I'm going to fit them semi-permanently:

Haha! I've got a pack of 12 chalks so plenty of supplies

After a long 5 week wait... they're here! Full banded steelies in matte black 7.5 F and 8.5 R

 

[They're a bit dusty and need a clean - that's not the paintwork :p ]

 

 

 

 

 

 

Test fitted my centre caps / bolt covers. I love it.

 

 

 

Now to get some tyres.

 

Still unsure as to whether I'll need spacers. Hope not
