Some small updates...

I decided to give the teeth a refresh as they were a bit manky, then bolted them on for extra security!

Now I've REALLY got to fix the overheating issue. I need 2 new fans and I'm trying to find ones that will actually work (aftermarket) with the car. I really want some of these bad boys but the connectors look wrong :( The hose leading out of the header tank has now split (FFS!) and everytime the engine is switched off it sprays coolant everywhere. I've gone through a bottle of coolant in the last fortnight.

Still not got the tyres sorted for the steelies, so Briskoda meet is gonna be a half-arsed car :'(

Just got in a bit earlier than usual. Like to get in about an hour before the racing starts, to avoid the queues :p     :D     No updates at the moment kids... but this has happened:

  • Sod it... took it round the block and stopped for some proper pics                   Needs lowering now that it's gained ride hide... but not really got much arch gap to play

  • Thanks buddy     Slight update: The Punisher / black theme is starting to wear thin on me now. I do love the black, but it's starting to look dark grey (rather than the jet black that I love) and

I'd love too... but I've got to get the radiator, fans and wheels / tyres fixed first  :D

Once those are sorted I can get back to the cosmetics.

Yeah fair play. Those fans BTW, my old Punto fan broke and the replacement was stupid money even from a breakers. A pal gave me one of those fans, I just made brackets and cut-and-shut the wiring.

Ok so small update... I'm not going to get new tyres in time for the big meet later in the month :(

However I'm hoping to have the overheating issue fixed and possibly have some other bits done too.

I've also ordered something rather cool and it should help to complete the look of the car...  B)  graphics-flashing-light-309183.gif

Well... I'm missing a few things (the biggest one being the steelies) and it's not up to the standard I wanted it, but it's as ready as it's ever going to be for the Brisky National.

Still waiting on my blue light though :( Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow or I'll be leaving for the midlands without it!

Just skipping to the latest.. phone browser reset put me back to pg1... f*** scrolling through it all!

Edit.

Looking good :)

No real updates... other than my bank account taking a massive kicking.

I've been suffering overheating issues for about 4 years now and I'm finally in a position to sort it out. The clutch is also slipping massively and the car barely moves now... so it was time for a major spending spree:

- 2 x new radiator fans
- New expansion tank

- Samco silicone coolant hoses

- ECS aluminium replacements for plastic connectors in coolant system

- ECS Stage 1 clutch kit

- Mobil1 gearbox oil

So that's a total of £950 spent in one afternoon

It's a major kick in the groin area, but this should (hopefully) resolve all of the issues I've been having. Now if something else goes wrong, someone is going in the garage and staying there!

Right... I was going to leave this job until the silicone hoses arrived, but as I'm getting through more coolant then petrol at the moment, it was time to sort it out.

Anyone who saw the car at the Brisky National will remember a big puddle:

Basically one of the plastic pipes has split and every time I parked the car, it would dump half the coolant. ECS Tuning in the USA do an aluminium kit for replacing the plastic bits so I got one shipped over...

Only did the 1 today as no point doing the others until I get the silicone pipes through:

Here you can see the huge split down the side:

I'd highly recommend this kit to anyone thinking of upgrading their coolant system. It's more expensive, but the quality is superb. You'll need some jubilee clips though as there aren't any supplied in the pack

What happened Jack??

Aw man, terrible to see the need of the AA van! But loving your mods to date!

Tell me, how far did you ever get sourcing those rear louvres and roof wing spoiler? As for a bull bar, would a Land Rover one like this be suited? (if sizing and legality feasible, obvs)

Right... I didn't explain what happened at the time due to me being absolutely fuming! :D

Basically, having fixed one part of the coolant system... whilst I was driving to work, the thermostat housing decided to explode in the middle of Deptford :dull:

I've now managed to buy a large amount of parts (aftermarket) to completely refresh the coolant system - if this doesn't work then it's game over. I've also ordered a few other bits to help keep temps down as much as possible and got myself a new clutch.

In the meantime I've been driving this:

Only 2 months old and 2000 on the clock when I got it... at only £130 a week :(

Cheers buddy. I did get a quote for a custom one, but the price was £500 - £600 which was a bit steep. I might look into it again in the new year, but that's a lot of cash.

I'm still looking at bullbars, but really need to read the law so I'm 100% legal. I do like those Landy ones though

Also, after 6 years of having a gearbox without any spring in it, it's being sent off to be fixed. By the time it's back on the road it should be like a new car B)

Oh my, looks like the front of the car exploded lol

The gearbox has been completely refurbished - this coupled with the new clutch makes it feel like a brand new car. It's really weird to drive... I don't have to force the car along anymore. It's actually quite frightening :D

If any of you wheel experts are reading this, I really need help with my latest purchase - I'm not sure if they will be safe. If not I'll have to by some others.
