30 when took delivery, 33 in few days time . . .

43     On my second vRS, got the present one in January - was looking at the Focus ST (I work for a Ford Dealership), but even with staff discount I couldn't bring myself to spend almost £5K more for a smaller car than the trusty Octavia.

 

Almost got the petrol version, but stuck with diesel, love the wolf in sheep's clothing effect, and what seems like an exclusive club, very rarely do I see any others around Barnsley, plus never been spotted by Briskodians.

38, 35 when bought it.  Like others I wanted a sensible kid carrier that still shifted when needed.

 

A list of my cars shows no brand loyalty except for a run of 3 Nissan Primeras.

 

Slightly off topic, but I think there are a few ex-Primera drivers lurking in Briskoda.  Were they eGT/eZXs per chance?  I kept my first (P10) one for 8 years until the rear sill/wheel arch let go and then got the limited edition flip paint P11 GT.  I still regret letting it go as it's my bench mark for how cars should go around a bend - I really should get on with fitting a RARB and B6's...

All 3 of my Primeras were the 2.0 SLX.  The first was bought when 2½ years old; the second was about the same age and replaced the first when it was written-off and the third was a new company car (I had a choice of any 5-door car up to 2.0litre and a certain price).  I agree that the cornering and handling of the Primera was excellent; much better than the Vectras and Accords that most of my work colleagues chose.

I'm 27, had mine for 8 months now. Various comments always seem to crop up even when you think you've heard it all but much like with my Mk1 Fabia Vrs opinions soon change after a drive. Hopefully will get it lowered soon to make it look more youthful haha!

Well work has its uses I suppose, but when things changed healthwise I had to retire,best days work I EVER did, just need to take care a bit more now but doing ok generally!

Vrs was my retirement present, love watching the faces wondering whether they dare overtake/speed as around our neck of the woods the Constabulary use Vrs' as unmarked cars, saves on the speed cameras I suppose doing pretty well the same job lol

I'm 64 and have had the vRS just coming up to 3 years. At the time it was a toss up between that and a second hand BMW 330d. I don't regret the final choice, the vRS does everything I could wish for and the wife won't drive it. 

 

During my 46 years of driving I have had 31 different cars including 11 company cars and the vRS is up there with the best of them.

 

Other highlights included a Vauxhall Firenza Droopsnoot ( you younger members won't have a clue what that is), an original 1973 Escort Mexico, a new 1983 Astra GTE and a new 1996 Golf VR6 which I kept for 10 fault free years.

 

Low points were a Morris Marina company car and a couple of new 1980/1982Toyota Corollas bought for the wife (she liked them)  

 

It's hard for me to believe but the diesel vRS is the most powerful car of the lot. How things have changed in 46 years.

33 years old got mine last week and got rid of Octavia 1.6 se diesel 2011 which was on a bungee to and from dealer why did I not get one sooner. A petrol one I now have the same year 2011.

Had my vRS TDi for just over a month now. Got it 2 weeks before my 26th birthday. Had my Mk1 Fabia vRS written off and found the perfect replacement!

38 years old and loving the Blackline estate. Easily the best car I've owned and yet still has loads of space for the camping gear and family. Can't go wrong for £18k brand new. If I had £80k I'd swap it for the Audi RS6 Avant but that's just a dream !!

Mk1 vrs hatch from age 21 to 25 (not from new) and now at 29 awaiting build of my mk3 vrs.

24 and have a 300bhp octavia vrs I had a 230bhp one when I was 21 I love them. Your not on your own!

Had mine when I was 25 now 27. It's true, I do see them mainly driven by people older than me, but your not alone.

Started driving life with a Ford Orion and in 1992 aged 26 bought a great car, a 1990 VW Golf GTI MK2 which to date is the best car I ever owned. The VRS estate I now own comes closest to the Golf but give me the ability to carry my wife, 3 kids and 2 dogs.

 

I have had quicker cars like a Volvo S70 T5 which was a rocket ship but who can live with 28 MPG these days, so the VRS fits the bill for practical family performance car.
