Anyway. I read many threads about this. But this is most complete one. Based on information you posted I was able to modify my script for that old Sony radio. Now I am able to have full Artist/Album structure and also able to shuffle (using playlist and MIX mode) on entire flashdrive/sdcard content using Skoda audio. Maybe it helps someone, or someone will make that tool much better.

It works on Linux and MacOS. Basically it should work anywhere where ruby, flac and lame is available.But I am not sure how ruby works on Windows.

Necrobumping lol, never heard of that phrase but I like it!  This thread has been useful so far.  I've managed to get hte car to recognise a playlist file, but I'm still working out how to get the playlists to recognise any songs... wish me luck
