Stage 2 Complete -- Jabba'd & No Cai

Featured Replies

Well what a long day-- up at 4am to be able to get to Jabba in plenty of time -- needn't of worried -- thanks to my fellow Briskodians directions -- drove straight there, only problem was I shouldn't have been there till 9:30 -- got there about about 10 seconds after Mike -- at 8:15!.

But no worries - as soon as Mike had got the car that was already in the rolling road bay out - he got mine in and got cracking -- Brilliant - after offering me coffee anyway.

Elton came in a little later and advised against the intake kit - due to it not being able to seal properly -- so I took his advice and decided to save the money -- may look at alternatives once I get rid of this stupid grin.....

so 4 hours later -- in comes Elton,do I want too know the result ??

Stupid Question or what !!!

The result = 236.1cv(bhp?) & 318.4nm

Mikes comment "It rev's that one", Elton says that's 2nd highest vRS they have done -- other than 242bhp one.

Then comes the journey home -- if I tell you that the journey there was 160.7 miles -- and the return journey was 268 miles! - that should tell you if I like it or not

But I can't beleive the way the things pulls now -- it's absolutely fantastic - brilliant - great - ace - fabulous - incredible etc etc - I think you get the picture..

Don't know what that rumour was but I'm sure it might be a saturday or sunday in August...cracking graph, nice big void under the lines...really glad you had a good day.

That's ok -- will try and translate.

Dark Blue line -- Engine Torque B4 Remap

Light Blue line -- Engine Torque after remap

Dark Yellow line -- Engine Power B4 Remap

Light Yellow line -- Engine Power after remap

Dark Red Line -- Power at Wheels - B4 remap

Light red line -- Power at wheels after remap

Engine torque is what gives acceleration

Engine power is what gives top speed(in conjunction with torque)

Here endeth todays lesson

Sounds good to me...

Dave, that was a very nice explanation and it all makes sense now. Can't believe how much the engine torque increases with the remap! Going to save a bit harder now... ;)

You wanna feel what it's like on the road --- F.c.u.k me !!!

........you have been assimulated!:D

Good stuff Dave; decent people Jabba and decent enough to recommedn you not to get their CAI.

I've fitted a Dynatwist and it has made a difference and I know the ABD CAI also give improvement. Must be the fact that their CAI doesn't seal properly and was really designed for a Golf.

Enjoy!

Cheers.

Adrian.

Dave ,

I take it that you had an enjoyable day ;)

I certainly did......am absolutely knackered now tho. :D

That Dyno plot looks great! (Bet you're going to frame it and hang it on the wall, now!)

Phoned Jabba today just to double-check that I'm really, really, really booked in for Monday Sept 1st.

Less than three weeks to go.... :D

Would you bloody believe it - I even had to go into work to kill some time - so it looked right for end of course to getting home..............................

Mind you that gave me a chance to have a quick spin in a 3.2V6 TT --- oh what a sound -- luuurvvrly

Those are magnificent figures, Dave!

So that's what you can get if you remap it with the full Milltek already on... Impressive!

I was on a training course in Peterborough......

And claiming the mileage for taking your own car ...............I'm sure that VAG can stand it ....................nice one ;)

Dave,

Pleased you had a successfull day. You see I've been wondering about the Jabba CAI. Did you get any idea from Mike how much the Milltek added to your good result as he orginally told me they get 225-235 from std cars? I see your torque curve is rather high up (peaking at 4438 it says) and am curious was that requested by you or just they way it gave its best power? Mine gives lots of low down torque from as low as 2000 and I don't want to loose the strong overtaking capability without having to get the revs up.

Chris

Cracking, Dave. Only wish I'd been around to pop up and see it "in action". Mr Panrix will be disappointed, although his is std exhaust.

Cheers,

Skodaw, these are great results indeed, and greater will be the enthusiasm the car gives on the road:cheers: ;)

However, I 'd like to make a question; are n't Jabba dyno-results a bit optimistic (look at your corrected power that approaches 245hp; a figure that is more important than the power detected at a given condition-time frame highly depending on temperature that was a bit higher than normal and atmospheric pressure)? Please do not take it as I am trying to diminish the impact of their work, which I think is great in anyway! I'm just wondering, as other well respected European tuners claim inferior or more conservative results with just chip/remap + exhaust.

In other words, has anybody of the guys here in the forum re-dynoed their car after a Jabba remap in another dyno workshop to confirm the results?

Again congratulations for the results...:)

 Congrats Dave - The difference on the road feels almost unbelievable doesn't it?

Dave, so you now have the second most powerful one they've done. Wonder who has number 1?

Anyway off to go start my own thread on my new toy :D :D :D

Glad you are happy, makes quite a bit of difference doesn't it. Stopped grinning yet?

Is that "officially" or "unofficially" the most powerful output they've got?;)
