When do we get an Octavia III with 2.0TDI, 4x4 & DSG

Featured Replies

Just wondering why Skoda has not offered this option on the Octavia III yet. Will it be coming later on and possibly exclusively on the Scout?

On the previous Octavia this combination used to be available on several variants (AllDrive, Scout, L&K)

If SUK have their way sometime after hell has frozen over.

My dealer expected it to become available on the new Scout, and possibly only with the 184 hp version... The Scout presumably in the market from model year 2015

I'm expecting a DSG only Scout. Possibly with the 177hp engine in the new Alltrack. 185 would be stepping too much on the VRS toes I think. Plus a 185 DSG Scout will be about 27,000 judging by current prices.

Skoda Norway said some time ago that  there will be a 2.0 TDI 4x4 DSG Scout (184hp) out late next year. So probably a 2015 model :)

A 2015 model would mean that it is available from roughly middle of 2014 right?

I really don't think the 185hp will happen. Its more than the top of the line Passat Alltrack and all but the top spec A4 Allroad. I just expect it will be a 150 DSG only, based on an Elegance, to make it different and more expensive than the 4x4 Octavia.

It was recently added to Leon lineup, no reason why Skoda wouldn't get it, but as far as I can see, it's not paired with DSG in any non VW variant. So TDI 150 DSG might be just right...

If they had any sense they would do a one off version of the VRS (wrc limited edition etc) with 4x4 i'd be quing up with the rest to throw money at them, needs to be a manual though.

The Audi A3 quattro has the 2.0TDI 184hp too.

The Passat Alltrack is available in 140 and 177hp variants.

The A4 Allroad is 177 or 245hp.

The Scout in 185 form doesn't really fit in that lineup, as much as I'd love it. Just like you can get the Golf GTI with 15 more horses than the VRS, the Scout will have to be the bottom of the range for pure marketing reasons. There is no way the Alltrack would be the least powerful of the three. As Scribbler says, they would sell like hot cakes if they made it, which is exactly why they probably won't :)

The Octy RS was tested with 4wd but it "probably won't happen for this generation"

I believe the 185BHP Scout will though :) Should be at the Geneva motorshow in March.

By the time when Scout with 184hp is available, there will be introduced new Passat with at least 230 hp BiTDI.

Then everybody wins :)

Spoke to one of the dealers in Norway today and he told me that there will be a 2.0TDI 4x4 and DSG combination on the Octavia stationwagon somewhere around the middle of next year. He was not sure which version of the 2.0TDI engine it will be (possibly the 150hp one, but he seemed quite sure it will not be the 184hp one from the vRS). He also mentioned that the Scout will probably get the same diesel engine.

Skoda Norge on facebook have confirmed 2 times that scout comes with 2.0 TDI 184hb ;)

But does that mean no TDI 4x4 DSG or will Skoda get access to the DSG boxes with higher torque rating?

I think the scout will ONLY be DSG and the 4x4 only manual.

Skoda have access to the required DSG with the diesel VRS.
