Richard's GT-R thread, old and new!

Featured Replies

I am sure the Nissan will be on the road first though after a refit, Citigo still has a long way to go I bet with wiring and such fiddly things.

  • Right.   I gave myself a good talking to and popped out for a little bonding with the new car.   Holy moley it's even more bonkers than I remember the last ones being. Yes, they have worked a lot

Well an R32 GT-R  is well known.

RK Tuning have run them for track and drag events for years so know them inside out, have a lot of experience in getting the best from them.

The Citigo takes a bit more... consideration and bespoke jiggery pokery. :D

I am down south on Thursday 12th December for our xmas night out, we are off to the Bell at Horndon on the hill, I can call into Jabba on the way past if you want, gee them up a bit as CC April meet isn't that far away

Best for the Citogo thread, but it's coming on nicely.  It'll be in the paintshop then. :)

really love the gtr, so jealous knowing i can never afford to buy 1 never mind give it the attention shown in this thread, loving the red most 32's tend to be black grey or white, cant wait to see it all back together and complete

it appears i may of just had a crisis!

Ohhhh very nice :D, forgot to ask are you staying twin turbo or going for a single turbo?

Just found i can get semi reasonable insurance quotes on these when i turn 21.... :D

Twin turbo, as they are.

Keeping it as close to original, just updated.

Not long before it's back in the car. :)

Also trying to get the intercooler grille back on, which most people who fit upgraded coolers that are thicker seem to leave off.

But I need it looking as stock as possible.

Looks great Richard. Have you upgraded the turbos? You'll have to take me for a spin once it's all up and running :)

Yes Charlie, these peak about 550bhp so not much lag.

Any more than that and you get increased lag so I'm thinking that's about right for road/track use.

Just not ideal for Santa Pod, but I'm not worried about that.

Well you've got every base covered now:

Off road - Yeti - check

Towing - Yeti - check

Track day in a diesel - Yeti - check

Normal track day - Nissan - check

Track day (with a twist) - Citigo - check

Traffic light Grand Prix - Nissan - check

Making a mug out of someone at the traffic light Grand Prix - Citigo - check

Santa Pod - Citigo - check

And, er, an Electric car?  - Leaf - check

Have I missed anything?  :D

Tank?

Tank?

That's a point Mike, I think I've got one coming in part exchange.

I'm just waiting for the next thread...... 'Should I wrap the Chinook in Yellow or Orange'?

Sorry Richard, a bit off topic there.

Just like the Citigo this does need to look as stock as possible

It would be a waste to tune it purely for Santa pod, it will be much more capable on the road and track :)

It's got a pair of Garrett 5s on it Sharpyy, should be updating next week as the engine will soon be going back in.

Car is already back on it's wheels now as suspension is on.

I run a transport company with 108 minibuses.  I sold the R35 and used the money for other stuff.

But that's not really important, I try to stick to car stuff on here and share my passion for Electric cars, GT-Rs and Skodas. :)

(quite a mixture! :giggle:  )

Sounds like it will be a bit of an animal! Have you uprated the suspension too?

Yes, it had rock hard Japanese HKS coil overs on it.

I've changed them to something with a bit more "give" for UK roads.
