Also sprog no.2 is due in 5 or 6 weeks.  With all the obvious short term implications to spare time. ;)

Loving the unique perspective of Father hood right there! Must remember to tell my missis it should be short term i can't remember having spare time for that past 10 years.  I suppose you are the boss though.

When they first pop out it tends to be a bit busy.

But a bit further down the line it's easier to squeeze in the odd track day once every few months. :)

Looks nice, it was a few years back when I had my GTR's and they felt like dinosaurs back then lol.

I still think they look awesome, but I never "gelled" with either of mine sadly.

Always ended up going back to Evo's.

Here's a few pics of my old sheds anyway.

An ex of mine had an R33 which he had modded a bit. Rather nice to drive though I only ever drove it on roads not on track. Sadly (and stupidly) he changed it for a soft top mg (wtf?)...... anyways i've always liked skylines tho I have to say I like the R34 look best. Will look forward to watching what you do to it!

You finding the aftermarket scene for jap cars alot cheaper than the vag cars?

I was shocked how cheap modding parts where for my celica, a full exhaust for my audi from a top name would be over a grand but a full exhaust for my celica from a top name jap tuner was 600

Surprisingly, yes.

For the cost of 1.8t installed into another car I can have a fully built engine capable of up to 650bhp...

Didn't get this with the R35 as making parts for those seems to be a license to print money.

The Alcon super kit for the R35 retails at £10,000.  The Alcon Extreme Kit for the R32 (which is about 10% smaller) is £3,500 for the same, everything you need for all four corners.

Buying and doing all the work on this R32 is going to cost me in total about the same as I spend tweaking the R35 and lost on it in 18 months.

Wow Richard. You never cease to amaze me.

The only constant cars in your life seem to be the Yeti and some sort of Nissan

The Yeti because it's just a great all round car.  May well be my first "keeper".

A Nissan, because they occasionally build cars others don't. :)

If Skoda did an EV, I'd have probably bought that instead.  Or a decent engined 4x4 twin turbo. ;)  But I doubt VW would let them.

Lovely example BossFox! Is that the RB26 engine? Great engines, I've seen them run serious power on stock internals (Not sure for how long though :giggle: )

They are quite happy up to about 500bhp on stock internals.

Then they need pistons and rods.

As I intend to throw about a bit it's having extras like a baffled sump etc... too. :)

I'm hoping it'll be delivered in about a week, it's too far away for me to go and collect it.  MPG makes it easier to transport. ;)

I want to keep it fairly stock and just use it.

That took less than a month then  :giggle:

No plans to go drifitng...?

If I did I'd have bought a GTT. :)

Did a drifting day in a Caterham.  Great fun.

I am a GT-R fan.  Rear baised four wheel drive is just better for road and track IMO.

Same as me then, i preffer 4wd for the road and track but i really do want to have a go at drifiting...especially since driftland is just a wee bit up the road from me

You going for a visable front mount or you hiding it away to keep it looking as standerd as possible?

Also what brand of parts are you going for?

Sorry for the millions questions but i really like this :D

No problem. :)

The R32 has an intercooler mounted at the front anyway, only it's black.

So this is being upgraded to a beefier item and kept black to keep it looking the same.

The parts are various brands.

Thing is, with 20+ years of people tuning and racing the R32 there is a huge selection of stuff.

I'm using a reasonable amount of NISMO stuff where needed as it's quite frankly the best, but expensive.  Like the oil cooler, some body bracing etc...

But a lot of it doesn't need to be NISMO, so the suspension, forged engine parts etc... are from other places.

Looking at Nitron suspension at the moment, it was very popular with the GT-Rs used for time attack and is adjustable so I can soften it for when leaving track.

The goal is a car that looks pretty much standard, other than riding slightly lower and having big brakes, but that has around 550bhp and is very drivable on the road and track.

I'm also not adding bling to the engine bay.  So it won't look mad.  But it will be. ;)

I'm keeping all of the period late 80's and early 90's stuff like orange indicators, the dash as it is, the interior and so forth.

Following this project very closely as well as the Citi-go! So nice!

Thanks. :)

Today's update.

Intercooler and associated bits in.

Slightly bumper trim to get it all to fit.

Looks OK, but I prefer the stock look with the mesh screen in front.

So RK Tuning are going to fit that back on, but it's trickier than it sounds as the cooler is quite a bit thicker and now sits further forwards.

Rear subframe has also been dropped and uprated bushes fitted.

This is a fair amount of work, takes more time than you'd think!

HICAS removed too.

Engine is also about to get quite a bit of attention... :)

Have to say I'm very happy with the way this is going.

Hoping to have it back on the road before the track season kicks off next year, which RK are confident won't be a problem.

six in line, shiny, performance piece, Richard, I really think you are becoming the Hugh Hefner of the Briskoda Forum, all your engine porn should be censored

Great thread by the way, look forward to seeing this car in the flesh.

It has worked out quite odd really,  both the Citigo and GT-R engines are being rebuilt at the same time with forged bits. :)
