Its going to seam quite dated inside compared to your old yellow beast

Yes, but that's half the fun of older cars. :)

I'm starting to find new cars a bit boring/capable/refined.

Think I've worn out the novelty of newer cars.  Nothing really takes my fancy at the moment.

  • Right.   I gave myself a good talking to and popped out for a little bonding with the new car.   Holy moley it's even more bonkers than I remember the last ones being. Yes, they have worked a lot

That's the problem I'm having. Apart from the GT86 there's nothing new that interests me at all. I often think I should have gone through some older cars instead of the vRS

Must have been watching too many early Fast and Furious films!!

Looks a nice example, surprised you didn't go for the 34.

I don't want those films, because they are a bit daft. :)

Thee 34 is nice, but it's bigger and heavier.

The R32 is lighter, shorter and more twitchy.

I want to maximise driving thrills.

R34 GT-R is also more than double the price for a good one as they are small in number.

And I think they look a bit odd with the lights and tea tray on the back. (although they look great from the side and front and are more modern)

Even when I had the R35 I used to look at the R32 and think that's a nice car, the one that started the Godzilla legend.

Have you made Dave Yu an offer for his plate yet?

I'll put "3 GTR" on it. :)

Always wanted one of these looks a beaut

Ahh! My favourite edition of the GTR badge, very nice. Good purchase and a rare colour!

I'll put "3 GTR" on it. :)

. I had one of the UK R33 V-Spec Skylines in '98, but Andy Middlehurst had already beaten me to the reg R33 GTR.

I've still got the freeby Oswald Boateng "GTR" cuff links and a few other bits and bobs. Great memories before fatherhood struck...

NIce skyliner Richard, saw one of these race against Rod Birley in his cosworth escort not so long ago, it monstered everything away from the startline including the cosworth, but got into difficulties around the corners, entertaining to watch mind you..

Great cars, like the colour of yours too :)

mate of mine used to have one and he removed the boot spoiler and I really liked the look without it and the rims he had suited his well

Personnally their my least favorite skyline but i can still apprectiate a good example like this :)

Very nice example. Dibs on the sale next week lol

The blue GTR in the Brands Hatch video is now a rather bright gold.

Although i supose if you didnt fancy 450bhp theres always 449 :D

Richard, strange question...can you switch between two and four wheel drive in a R32?

Richard, strange question...can you switch between two and four wheel drive in a R32?

No, it's automatic.

So it sends power to the back most of the time and just to the front when it needs to for better braking, pulling away etc...

This is why they outperformed the competition at the time and the current R35 does something similar.

The older generation of GT-Rs can be a bit sloppy now with it's 4WD deployment, but you can swap out the old analoge G sensor for a digital one to bring it back to life better than it was from new.

Must.....

I did mention in passing the other week that you would get another itch for some Jap after the Yellow Beast had parted company.

I very brief conversation that me and Richard had at the start of the year went something like this....

Me "So how many cars are you ordering this year"?

Richard "Nope, this is my sensible year, I've got the Citigo project"!

Richard, as always I tip my hat to you, you keep us all entertained and hooked   This does give me a thought, as it's auto I wonder if my missus would drive one

It's a manual.

The R35 was auto/DSG.

I will be driving this myself. ;)

Just had a look on the Newra Imports website and there is some class metal for sale.

Enjoy the Skyline.

I assume there is a big market for buying after market performance add ons for Jap cars, will you have to import your big brake kit or is there a UK company you can go to?

I look forward to seeing this at a track meet but you will also have a Citigogogogo and you can't drive both..... I suppose a tow bar is needed on the Nissan then you can take both to the circuit

Is this like your last Nissan in that it will need to be wrapped?

After seeing so many aggressive overweight cars these days (I include my own more modest vehicle in that too), it's a breath of fresh air to see a profiled, darty looking car. large overhangs and those wonderful period interior fabrics and plastics. What ever happened to panache and style? I like the looks of your car, it's shape is so much more interesting to pour over, than a modern uber-crusher-gtr thingy, even if it doesn't go as fast.......yet :D

I can get stuff in the UK Jamie or import it.

the market for upgrades is absolutely huge.

No wrapping, been there, done that and I specifically bought this in the colour I wanted, that is also not that common.

I'm not so worried if it gets the odd mark as it's worth less than 25% of my previous GT-R... :peek:   And it's more of a hoot to drive at sensible speeds!

Mad this cost the same as a well specced new Citigo.
