Richard's GT-R thread, old and new!

Featured Replies

Think it's very good of you to say about it. It may not just be GTR's that people will want wrapping. I honestly couldn't do it either

  • Right.   I gave myself a good talking to and popped out for a little bonding with the new car.   Holy moley it's even more bonkers than I remember the last ones being. Yes, they have worked a lot

Haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet Richard but from your posts on here, you come across as a thoroughly likeable chap.

By posting what you have on gtroc, you've hopefully stopped others from making the same costly mistake.

Absolutely gutted that someone has done that to your car, you've handled it fantastically though whereas most others would have went berserk.

was looking through your thread on the other forum and thought i would have a look at PW Pro... wow them guys know what they are doing!

Out of interest what do you think of wraps as in the finish, how well it lasts and how easy it can scratch?

  • Author

I'll let you know when I've got a decent one!

My impression from the previous one was the finish on the material was fine, scratching was not too bad and would do two/three years before needing to be replaced.

The new one is a superior material, so hopefully it'll be even better.

I'm not very good at keeping quiet for my own good (car resale value) and putting other people in a situation I don't like.

I've since found out about three other people who have had cars sorted and kept quiet, leaving others to sent their cars there...

Just not on IMO.

Damn conscience! :)

Totally agree Richard, regardless what the fanboys and flamers say, there is a moral responsibility to speak out, stating the facts and putting it out there in a clear and measured manner, so others can make informed choices and decisions and you've done this admirably.

may be worth a look at when i get bored of this silver then!

Oh and it looks really odd seeing your car in blue again yellow is definitely a better colour :)

I'm really looking forward to getting it back.

Had a parcel arrive from Japan today too, a Mine's steering wheel with Alcantara hand grips.

It's very nice, got to wait a week to get it fitted though.

Does the wrap come with sunglasses?

It's gonna look wicked!!

Come on then !!!! ;)

Cheers

Hopefully a little vid to follow...

Very nice.

Out of interest do you have to change the log book for the change in colour? Since it isn't permanent.

  • Author

No, it's a temporary colour change so no need to.

Been past a lot of police cars and never had an issue.

Actually, I've never been pulled in this car at all despite having it for almost a year now !

Another great job by Paul.

I rather like the colour. I would like to see some outdoor shots too.

Cheers

Nice to see it back in one piece Richard, looks great to boot, sprint yellow by any chance? :)

No idea Mike, it's the least shocking of two yellows in the Hexis material.

In the metal it's got less of a green tinge to it as it's better quality stuff. The blue underneath doesn't bleed through like on the last cheap (but expensive) wrap.

Looks almost the same in the pics though.

Thanks for the earlier comment BTW.

I'd be interested to see how they did the spoiler. I had to do mine in a few pieces to get the underside done properly. Are you able to show some close ups of the finish on it please?

Will do when it's clean again Harry. :)

After 220 miles in damp conditions it's a bit grubby on the rear end.

Looking good Richard, looking good

Have to admit that I wouldn't have the foggiest idea where to start when doing this and if I did have a go the whole car would end up in a right state! Mate has attempted to do his Alfa, from a distance it looks quite good but when you get up close it is shocking in places.

Glad PW Pro have sorted things out for you.

That looks a lot better, glad it's all in one piece again.

Looking sweet Richard, think it would look even better in some outdoor shots.

Btw if you ever feel the need to "accessorise" i've got a Bananaman costume you could borrow lol ;-)

Looks good :) did you have the paint repaired before wrapping?
