So they can't do anything if the cars over 10 years old??

Flat it, compound it, and add a rattle can of lacquer? Probably cost you a tenner all in. Not bad going for an 11 year old car.

Its a real shame TBH as there are plenty of other cars around that are older with plastic spoilers and the paint is ok even from the VAG group.

 

Maybe a collective approach will help, i suppose its worth a try!

I know the warrenty doesn't cover plastics, to be fair talking to bickertons I'd be surprised if they ever paid out under it and they weren't exactly helpful when Iasked about the rust on my sills.

But anyway, 20people thus far have raised their hand about this issue in less than a day. To me that's a problem with the quality, doesn't exactly reflect well.on them having a load of cars driving around with the same visable problem.

I also can't see why they couldn't at least offer some help when they have done for other members with the same problem, even if it's a token gesture towards the cost.

I'm not expecting them to pay the full costs as i know they won't.

Had my spoiler resprayed for free about two years ago. Complained to local dealer asking if because it was ex demo and on the forecourt. Also pointed out that it should be covered by skoda or auto glym life shine. Mines red vrs 2006.

Auto glym life shine is a extra that will have had to been purchased alongside the car.

Kinda meant that I dont know which it was covered by. Didnt ask if it was the auto gym life shine or skoda who authorised the repair.

Car did have the treatment when new as it was a demo car.

Not many 05/55's on the list and no 06/56's at all, which would make you think they had solved the problem but then you see the 07's on the list, seems kind of strange. :(

I've also added a few pictures of my lacquerless spoiler.

Does someone fancy adding me to the list :-) I'm on my phone. My car is a 07 model.

Started off small about the same size as a fifty pence piece, by the groove in the spoiler for the aerial. Got a lot worse last winter once water was getting underneath and freezing in the frosts we had it was just lifting all the lacquer. Looked terrible.

Got mine redone and didn't consider going to my local dealership as I thought they would tell me to get lost lol.

Mine was fine until this summer, I think the sun caused it, but the speed in which it developed surprised me!  Two large seperate patches appeared within a week of each other :-(
