new vrs spyshots!!!

Featured Replies

Regarding the looks, I think we really need to wait for the real thing. The estate on the ring will most likely have the correct suspension/brake/engine setup as thats what they are most likely testing.

The looks however will I think change slightly, Perhaps a better spoiler on the back maybe. Who know what the tape is hiding, so far all we have done is photoshop the tape to body colour. If you look at the not photoshopped pic, something red can be seen through the tape. Maybe some kind of splitter/lower spoiler is being hidden. I'd also guess the wheels will be different from those, after all they want the car to look inconspicuous when doing this kind of testing. Perhaps the relocated number plate has been done because there is a big FMIC in there.

I remember when the octy 2 photos started appearing and everyone saying how they disliked it, but opinions change once you see one in the flesh.

Yes, thanks for posting. :)

Estate looks nice, and it's available in blue! Excellent! Now all it needs is 18" wheels, four wheel drive and that big fat V8 they're putting in the RS4. For under

What I can't understand is how skoda manage to keep it so secret? Why the lack of photos of a finished one when it is due to be shown to the public in about 8 weeks time? There must be finished articles sitting around.

Surely these photos are quite old? In the other thread people are claiming to have driven it,which they probably have!

The estate looks like a mercedes estate.Nicer than the hatch. As it stands though its

If this is it then its all a tadge bland, probably means it wont sell that well so should be some good deals to be had about 12 months after its launched

Hatch looks a bit dull imo. Estate looks better but needs roof rails and both need bigger wheels....

Hopefully the badge being covered up is "3.2 Quattro" :D

It's not the new RS, it's not the new RS, it's not the new RS....etc.

haldex version or the proper Quattro ;)

im guessing if its the new vRS it will be running gear only. i still dont see why the would put the grill badge on if they were trying to keep it under wraps.......sounds suspicious to me

It probably is the new vRS underneath, but by blanking out the space for the vRS badge they are certainly getting us all talking ahead of the real launch. Very clever :)

Urgh! You mean that rubbish they put in the Audi TT? Maybe if they bang a couple of small turbos on it. Otherwise it's a heavy, lazy lump. Understeer city, here we come!

I suppose that the 3.2 V6 is the biggest engine Skoda are ever likely to get. I certainly can't see any V8s going their way :( What's the tuning potential of the 3.2?

AWE GAWD - what a drab looking car!! I'm with PaulC......I don't think I'll be replacing my vRS with the new model if thats it.

ho hum!

That looks totally bland. I very much doubt that is the real vrs. I really hope it isnt.

 Think that must be right.Just a mule or whatever they call them :)

Maybe its a dummy they made to get everyone talking and other manufacters laughing, then... come launch...

...They bring out one hell of a good looking vRS

Here's hoping anyway

Lets not forget that the parent co is VW, and they generally dont show completed versions of the competetive sector specials until launch day. I'm not at all convinced this is the finished item. I don't have inside info or anything, but I am led to believe that the VRS looks every bit a VRS and hopefully we wont be disappointed.

As as been suggested, this will be the test mule for the running gear.

( I'll be gutted if it does turn out like the piccys)

So it's fairly safe to assume the writers for that website read briskoda then. Let others do all the hard work then nick the pictures for and excluseive on their site.

The same thing happens with MCN magazine and the newsgroup uk.rec.motorcycles.

Anything interesting there gets mysteriously lifted and appears in MCN a few weeks later so the regulars of the group made up a completely fictitious story about a non existant bike and sure enough that appeared in print based on "an insider source in japan" as mentioned here http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4011279,00.html

There was much egg on faces when the truth came out

More like this than VRS

Looking back at the piccies it looks like the black rubbing strips are simply bits of tape and the lower bumper sections are similarly blacked out. So I hope something good is underneath

At the moment I don't think it looks that interesting. :(

The estate looks better than the hatch though :)

 nice one

It doesn't look like theres any centre caps on the wheels, so maybe they won't be on the launched model.

Isn't it funny how the magazines are able to get perfect pictures of something thats under wraps ie right place right time :) .

VW are famous for making their mules look like other brands, never mind lesser models. Some test geek with a sense of humour I suppose. Considering these are the first ever spy shots of the supposed vRS, it's feasible that it will look somewhat different when it's in the showroom.

I think the estate looks good and as others have mentioned I doubt the wheels in the pics will be on the production vRS.

they are just the 17in wheels from the Sport, options list!

I know that Skoda VRS blue is a new VRS color and they will start selling both hachback and estate at the same time.

A pic done by me.
