Mk3 Mfsw in a Mk2 FL

Featured Replies

Had a test drive in a Mk3 Vrs a few months ago, really liked the steering wheel

I have retrofitted the mk2 FL mfsw to my vrs

I managed to get a Mk3 mfsw which I have just tried in my vrs

Button function is very limited and erratic

Volume goes up with wrong scroll wheel

A lot of the buttons don't work, so took it off. I don't want to give up on it but I will need to do more research to find a fix

Good luck Eddie :)

No a picture of it fitted to see the wheel :/

Surely it will look the same as any other Mk3 vRS wheel, only with a different dash

Google Images is your friend :)

Good to know you're pushing the boudaries again Eddie..!

Eddie your car looks like a pre-FL MK2. You have fitted a post-FL MFSW and got it to work? I am struggling with the exact same thing. Are you willing to go into more detail? Thanks.

Eddie's Mk2 is a FL car.

I will report back soon

I'm still waiting for the mf buttons from a facelift superb, they are on back order

As said above my Vrs is a Facelift

functionality on a pre-facelift I don't know, same goes for a FL mfsw in a pre-facelift

The facelift rocker switches didn't work on a pre-facelift, which is why I went for Golf Mk5 GTi wheel, plus I got the flat bottom and flappy paddles

When the weather's better Ed, can you take another pic of the whole dash from behind the front seats?

Thanks

Cheers Ed, that really helps actually - the steering wheel kind of looked a bit ungainly side on but that looks much better.

Nice - you is da man Eddie

Looks proper good. How did you manage to get all the controls working?

I had to change the buttons on the wheel to those from a Facelift Superb

That looks really good Eddie........you just need the mk3 vrs seats fitting now!

Great work Ed, I like that a lot.

Nice work mate.

You just can't leave anything alone?

I'm guessing this will be just as much of a PITA as the mk6 into mk5?

Also, any idea what would be required to install MFSW on manual MK2 Octavia?

As well as the new wheel you need new controller and a bit of wiring. If you have maxidot you may also want new wiper stalk. Once it's all fitted you then need some coding sorting. I think quite a few folk have done this. I got my parts from Skodateile and Shark performance did the installation.

, any idea what would be required to install MFSW on manual MK2 Octavia?

my parts list:

http://skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=pro

MF Steering wheel, manual car, vrs spec, radio and telephone buttons, red stitching 175 EUR.

http://skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=pro

Wiring loom 25 EUR.

SW Controller: 5K0 953 549 100 EUR.

Fitted by Alex @ AKS for a very reasonable fee :)

Airbag is re-used from the existing wheel and the new parts are just plug and play, with a little re-coding needed in VCDS.

You can keep the existing wiper stalk (with buttons that i'd previously used to control the MDF/Maxidot however they are are now redundant as this is contolled via the RHS scroll wheel on the MFSW).  Or, do what i did and buy a replacement stalk (5K0 953 513M) that does not have the toggle switch.

HTH.

Should be noted that there are different versions of Control modules, so plan before you buy
