Spacers and Rear / Front ARB

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Not sure if this has already been covered in one of the topics but I was wondering if you could help me...

What spacers would you recommend to fit for MK2 Fabia Sport with following alloy wheels: 7.0J x 17" ET41 offset with a 5 x 100 P.C.D and 205/40/17 tyres…? Should I go with 20mm…? 15mm…? Different ones for the front and rear...? What do you reckon…?

Also, was planning to get Rear and Front ARB but my car is lowered only on the springs (35mm) and nothing else on the suspension has been changed…

Should I go with one of these (front or rear) and if so which one…? Any brands you recommend…?

Any help and advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot, Slotty

Looks like your car does not comply with the following:

"Tyres must be fully covered by the wheel arches, excluding any side wall raised lettering or protective ribbing on the side walls of the tyres, or wheel hubs

This may not be a MOT issue but would be an issue under The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986"

Goosh first thing in the morning i better rush out and remove the spacers so i keep in line with "the road vehicles(construction and use) regulations 1986..!!

Really like that look...something that I'm after just don't want my car to be to wide...:) what brand your spacers are. Was it just straight fit or did you have to do some fiddling to fit these in...?

Thanks slotty....H+R hubcentric spacers but saying that there is a lot of good quality spacers on line. You should be paying around £100 -£150 for a set ( front and rear) dont forget the extended bolts some spacers come with them and some dont. btw its a straight fit as long as the hub and alloy surface is clean and dead flat, some time spent in prep of these surfaces will see a snug fit.

Where did you get yours from O.C.D...? Can you recommend me something please as i don't really know much about these...

Any links more than welcomed... :)

I'm not lazy, just don't know what's best to buy... :wonder:

have a wee look at this page it will give you an idea what you can get ..it depends on what you want to spend, these look good and you also get the ex bolts. i funny enough got mine second hand from a mate but i knew he had bought them new. if i was you i would ring and talk to a human about these spacers and tell them what you are looking for ..its better some times instead of looking at a computer screen smashing-laptop-with-bat.gif

I've gone for 13mm up front and 18mm at the back with a 40mm drop on 17inch wheels.

Scrapping of the inner walls will occur with the above set so keep that in mind. It happens when going fast over large anomalies on the road surface.

Whiteline is what I chose for a rear arb. I like the fact that it gives you the option to set firmness. For the record I got H+R coilovers.
Got everything from AwesomeGTi - great guys to deal with.

Thanks for nice comment Sparky...!!!! :)

I have swapped these with my previous trinity monte silver alloys I had. I was over the moon with the deal we agreed with the top man (Combi31) and PX my wheels, gave him some cash for the Kenataur ones. I'm really happy with the look, car looks much better but i want to make look even better hence why asking the questions about spacers and ARB...I also have a mate who can refurb each wheel for £25.00 per wheel and planning to paint these while using my Winter Set to look like these Audi ones:

Regarding the spacers before fitting them, it might be worth getting hold of an old hub from a Fabia/Octavia mk1/golf mk4/Seat Leon/Ibiza etc. to drill the hole for the grub screw - this will retain the spacer onto the face of the hub when you remove the wheel.

I did this when I fitted mine otherwise it can be a real b@$tard to line up the spacer, position wheel then tighten the bolts up....In the dark and on the side of the road it would be impossible as it (the spacer) will keep sliding around not allowing everything to line up properly!

Just a thought before you fit them...

+1 vote for the H&R 25mm rear ARB!

Steve.

The ARBs require nothing else doing to the car bud.  It doesnt matter whether your stock/uprated springs or coilovers.

Simple and effective! Anything that makes changing a wheel easier is well worth it in my books!!

Just purchased one!!!

Yo matty these might be good... http://www.jjcracean...pacer-kit-5x100

Thanks O.C.D...waiting for my payday which is on Friday...;)

I have also found these:

Zobacz ofert?: Dystanse EIBACH dystans 5x112 5x100 4x100 flansza

http://allegro.pl/showItem2.php?item=3728117161

These can be bought in Poland for £40 per set (20mm per side). Not sure of I should spend bit extra and buy branded ones or are these all the same...?

The only problem with these eibach ones is these are not supplied with studs.

Basically they are similar its just sometimes you pay a lot more for a brand name. A set of bolts will cost you the same as a pair of spacers.

that's what i thought...Had a chat with Mike @ Awesome GTI on his webiste and he offered me the H&R ones (13mm though) including the longer bolts for £55.00 per set...that's £110.00. I have also asked for the rear ARB and whiteline one was for £141.11...Looks like i need to find spare £250.00 somewhere... :wall:  :wall:  :wall: :wall:  :wall:  :wall:  :wall:  :wall:

whiteline one is thinner than the H&R and uses drop links, all of which doesn't stiffen it up as much as the H&R.... surely if he can offer H&R spaces he can do the roll bars too? this is mine (H&R)

connects direct to the bottom of the shocks, and comes with the extra long bolts required...
