The New

Featured Replies

Got to be honest, I like it. I definitely like it more than the std one.

I seem to remember the new octavia looking a bit pants in pictures, but when you see it in the flesh it is far, far better.

This will definitely be a lets see it in the metal, however it is not much of a departure from the previous one (except the front bumper which may look better in the flesh).

Still probably not enough of a change in spec and looks to make me want to chop mine in at the earliest opportunity. Probably just tune mine a little more.

you never know, they may face lift it with a more aggresive kit before i come to sell mine in 3 years time... :D

nice phtoshop effort of the estate above... maybe someone at Skoda needs to see what the current owners want and make a few changes !

Not a pimpmobile, for sure!

Here is a nice one

now thats enough. maybe a bit chavvy, but i'd still have one.

nice one

Needs to have a slightly more aggressive look; lower, honeycomb grill, bigger wheels and a more cohesive looking rear spoiler, the one in the pictures is too fussy, too 'aftermarket' in it's looks.

If the pictures on this thread are a true representation of the new vRS, then I think I'll be looking elsewhere when I come to replace my current vRS.

I know that looks aren't everything but dynamics alone won't persuade buyers to part with their money, just look at the 'bug eyed' Impreza, a great car but it didn't sell as well as previous/subsequent models because people didn't like the look. If Skoda need a clue, take a look at the Golf GTI or better still the new Audi RS4. The new vRS has been long awaited and the hype surrounding it has been huge. It has a reputation already and it needs to live up to it.

Also; if Skoda are going to price the new vRS around

old vRS bowed at at around

Auto Express (issue 867 p.23) reports that the vRS 197hp FSI engine will be joined by a 2.0 TDI engine tuned to 170hp, due to arrive after the petrol version. Both will be offered with DSG double clutch gearbox with paddle shifters. Prices quote to start at

shows a picture in the sun news paper today of the new vrs and yes, thats definatly it.

a touch dissapointed.

not if you buy second hand. I like the A4 sportline saloon in the last but one shape. Still going for 20k at the mo, but in 6 to 12 months time thay will be the same as a new vrs saloon i think.

It just looks akward in these pics. Maybe better in the flesh. So far tho i'm not sold on its looks or performance. The extra 20bhp over the current one, and all you get is the sam top speed and a couple of tenths of the 0-60. Not enogh to justify a change and a price hike IMHO

i dont like the wheels either. they will be a **** to keep clean. Dare I say i;d rather have a cheaper 2nd hand new golf gti to one of these.

Here is a nice one

If only it did look like that. The new vrs looks bland and dull, looks little different from the standard octavia.

yip its mine and sadly not an S4 :(

... come on Kenny. You know you'll 'nearly' have an S4 with a bit of tweaking and still get 27-32 mpg

more than a little tweaking mind you im 154bhp behind :)

AutoExpress where suggesting a starting price of

WhatCar seem to think that the Hatch will start @ 15k... will be a bargain if it is... maybe 18-19k for a fully loaded one.. still cheaper than a golf :D

hi mate, thanks, its a 1.8T with 190bhp as standard, twin side intercoolers

I've waited a long time for this unveiling.I feel like I have just undressed Claudia Schiffer and found out she's not that special........ bit disappointed really.

Estate looks better.Just hope the rumour of Alcantara are true and they have ditched the silver inserts.A black vRS estate with chrome roof rails would do me very nicely thank you  .I do like that blue now. It's growing on me.

that link just brings up this page again
