:bump: According to the "top 1000" teams we had the biggest single WU production score total in the team's history - 3380 points - now up to 282 in the rankings! http://statsman.info/folding2stats

Mine keeps crashing at the end of a unit - but seems to log the points?

Any idea what the problem is?

Caz - points often don't appear logged until a while after a WU finishes - Not sure how long but I've accessed the site before and after a WU finishes and noticed it takes a while to give you the score.

Never had one crash. :)

mine deffo hasn't logged.... the WU finished about half past midnight, and my points still aren't there now...... Just hope the result got uploaded to the server ok - I guess that's more important than me getting the credit for em!

:thumbdwn: Maybe its worth uninstalling and installing the program again? Start afresh a bit. Although the last time I did this is somehow managed to restart my WU from the point I uninstalled the program from!

latests stats.... come on we can crack the top 200 if we push....

From this link.......

Team User Info

New 1

Active 36 (+3 )

Inactive 26

Total 62 (+1 )

Avg PPD 167.9

So what's happened to the 26 inactive ones. Could soon make the Top 200 if we could get them back on board.

Whats PPD? can't be points per day (unless its just you? :D)

I think a lot of the 26 inactive had issues with the client. I know I have to shut it down to play some games, but it doesn't affect anything else.

Average points per day for the active users? But thats only a guess

I think a lot of the 26 inactive had issues with the client. I know I have to shut it down to play some games, but it doesn't affect anything else.

Is there any easy way that we can ascertain if that has been the problem for the currently inactive users?

It would be great if we could get back up to full strength again, as there seems to be a few teams predicted to overtake us in the next few weeks.

well, I've uninstalled F@H Graphical client off my PC... trying the Console version now - let's see if that makes any difference!

Fingers crossed...... :goodvibe:

Doning better peeps - Production is up 25% and pushing almost 50,000 in a week.

Just need that elusive entire network working for us to push us into the top 200 - somewhat sticking around the 223 place at the moment. Others catching up, and peeps we're overtaking is somewhat level pegging us at the moment.

I'm back on! But this machine is twin processor, and it only uses on of them.

If anyone can talk me through sorting it I'd be happy to!

Good to be back on the team...

Don't you have one windows running on each processor? I've got no idea but I'm sure ColG has used / is using dual Xeon type machines for his folding. :D

I have it running twice on a dual processor machine. To use the dual capabillity you must use the console client as a windows service as its the only way to make it work.

1) create 2 folders with 2 separate names and copy the fah-502console.exe program into each one, then shell out to a dos/command prompt.

2) use the dos prompt and CD command to change to one of the directories (eg. cd c:\apps\folding1 )

3) Type FAH-502conole -configonly and hit return, go through the setup of entering name/team number etc. When prompted for machine number enter 1 . When prompted to install as service enter Yes, and when prompted for advanced options enter Yes again and enter any proxy server and port numbers required to get to the internet. Keep pressing enter till you get back to dos.

4) go back to step 2 and use the CD command to go to the other folder (eg. cd c:\apps\folding2). Repeat step 3 but where machine number 1 was entered before, now enter 2 instead. All other options are the same.

5) go into control panel > admin tools > services and start both FAH-502*** services and set them to automatic.

6) use windows explorer to find each folder in turn and open the FAH-LOG.txt file in notepad just to make sure all is well. You should see something like.

how do I go about moving the service to launch from a different folder.... if it's already set up and then I decide I want to move it to run on a different drive??

If all you want to do is move the whole folder from one drive to another, I have done it before.

Stop service and move folder and subfolders to new location.

Start regedit and seach for where it was (old location) (eg. c:\apps\folding)

Locate this key and change it to reflect the new location.

Verify it has changed by doing a properties on the service (look at path to executable) and then restart service.

Morning!

I see from the Stanford site we are now up to 65 registered members. That's great news.

Perhaps we can aim for 100 members.

Still having problems with my ADSL connection at home (trying to migrate to a faster service; now BT have decided that there's a fault on my line - 'sfunny, it was alright before  ). Until that's sorted out, I won't be doing any more folding :(

Ta muchly - I'll do that when I get home :)

Wahoo! Crossed the 100,000 points barrier last night. Only 97,000 points behind Colin now

Chris

Back on your team now

And another one

Only installed it on three pc's

but they are all running 24-7

Will look at putting it on a few more in a few weeks

How do the points get scored ?

some people seem to have done more wu's than others but have less points ?

Nice one!

IIRC points are allocated depending how quickly your machine processes a unit compared to their reference machine. More experienced folders may be able to clarify further though.

hmmm I wonder what would be said if I ran it on the UK HEP grid ... currently at 2698 CPU's :D
