My machines are in tatters at the moment...which colin ;)

Time to break out the webservers, amazed I haven't in the wee hours to be honest...if anybody has a sensbile consumption script...;)

Been out for over a week and one of my desktops was not started, grrr...

The other the NBfan fell off and is presently (dam forgot to order it again) some bits to fix it...it overheats in minutes transfering files, let alone if I spank it folding...

Laptop is, erm yeah ok I should turn that back on, warranty is almost up anyway :D.

:bump: According to the "top 1000" teams we had the biggest single WU production score total in the team's history - 3380 points - now up to 282 in the rankings! http://statsman.info/folding2stats

hmmm I wonder what would be said if I ran it on the UK HEP grid ... currently at 2698 CPU's :D

Well....would be good to find out in an odd way :D

Perhaps not good for you though so we'll never know...

And another one

Only installed it on three pc's

but they are all running 24-7

Will look at putting it on a few more in a few weeks

How do the points get scored ?

some people seem to have done more wu's than others but have less points ?

Have a look earlier in this same thread (around posts 89-93) .....

Tick the option to allow work assignments of greater than 5MB - get bigger work units' date=' but bigger points too if they're processed swiftly. Its in the "configure" bit of the setup, right click on the rose in the taskbar.[/quote']

well, the good news is that since installing F@H as a service, it hasn't crashed!! 3 WUs completed, so it's early days yet, but it's looking good ;)

Have to see how it gets on with the WU it's just started about 20 mins ago tho... it's a 600 pointer.......

Unfortunately, having reached 6 figures (but with no chance whatsoever of bettering my current third place), I'm going to have to mostly retire, at least temporarily: I've had to give all my computers proper jobs :D. Sorry folks

I'll try and keep one thread going on my latop though.

Ok, trying to configure it for 2 processors Manny... Need a little help though - I'm not as techy as you! What does "shell out" mean?

MSN maybe?

Well, my PCs have been busy while I've been away! I see we had one of the biggest spikes in WU production and I've actually PULLED AWAY from 150hp&counting and his folding farm. :D :P

Not too bad from my mere 2.8 lappy & 1.8 desktop. :)

I owned 3rd place for a few hours today until TKW turned in a couple of WU's  Now 1021 points behind him again :(

Use, start then run. In the box enter CMD and hit the enter key.

You will then be in a DOS type window. You will need to know the commands to use as its command line driven.

CD = Change Directory. So to change directory you enter CD C:\Folding1

So, go to the download site for the client and download the console client (V5.02) not the newer beta one as I dont think your points will count. then install using the instructions.

On another note, I see Neo has now passed 200,000 points. I must get some more processing power to try and catchup.

Well, I see 150HP&Counting has had a bit of a surge on. Still not past me yet, mate. :P

Team is nicely above 50k points a week too, so making good progress. nice to see some recent joiners down the bottom of the table who are making good early headway into WU production.

Yeah but not far off your bumper now :D If only they'd send me something like a WU to complete - keep bloody getting the low pointer's at min (30sec per frame 5000 frame types  )

Just need that one 600 pointer ;) then it will be bye bye

Still only got two machines really working on this though, otherwise i'd have been long gone by now

I've got a 600 pointer finishing tonight but you can't have it :P

Must admit though, the previous few were only little ones.... thought it had taken a dislike to me but then it 'rewarded' me with a biggie ;) downside is, my poor little pc has been working on it for about a week!!

:woohoo: - My ADSL connection is back!

Sent off the results of the two WUs completed while I was off the Internet (900 points!), and now halfway through two new WUs.

Only 81k points to catch Manny now ... time to pull in some more machines

I think you've got the highest folding rate of the lot, Chris - You'd be at the top if you'd been doing 8000+ a week from the very start. :D

Cranking back up but still got temp alarms issues...

Time to get my jigsaw out and make a bespoke cage outside for it.

Stanford's site has Briskoda ranked at 223, but Extreme Overclocking has it at 220th. Anyone know which one is the most accurate?

Generally it seems to be going quite well doesn't it? Are people still having lots of problems, as the number of inactives is almost 50% of the registered number.

Just discovered my secret folding rig had rebooted at some point in the last two weeks.......no mouse, keyboard attached, and at boot, it won't do anything till i hit F1.

And i just ticked the "larger than 5mb" option on both PC's

So now that's all fixed, i might start climbing again rather than languishing in 25th..........

Stanford's is refreshed more frequently I think.........

Chris

I have stuck another pc on temporarily. Can only be in use over the weekend, then I need to reuse it for something else. Its a P4 3.4GHZ so it should complete a few WU's over the weekend.

Come on guys... we are closing in on "microsoft" (wonder if its the real thing...) big push should ahve us in trhe top 200 before christmas so crank up all those dormant PC's.....

Indeed, we need a much higher production rate.

I thought the fast pc I put on as a temp on friday would be pretty fast, alas its just about to complete its 2nd WU before I retire it.

and then there are the halfwit network upgrades which they do on a friday night, rather than a weeknight, so both my machines reboot and sit waiting for me to log them in rather than churning out WU's over the weekend.

bugger. :( Us mere "users" at work aren't even allowed rights to install anything on these PCs here, so there's no chance I can fold at work. :thumbdwn:

I don't run it on any of the PC's at home though... and given the number you have (IIRC), it probably balances out....

EDIT: I'm just a "user" as well. I just so happen to be on the tech infrastructure team, and have one illegal PC hiding in a darkened room plugged into a "non-existent" network point hidden behind 50 spare monitors.... :P
