Reflection From internal chrome into Rear view door mirrors

Featured Replies

Becoming a pain in the arse, a design  short coming!

Amazed Skoda development engineers didn't pick this up. Perhaps they always drive in the dark.

Potential safety  issue in summer sun-when we get it!

What do you think?

  • I've solved the reflection problems in mine. I drive with my eyes shut. Simple but effective :-D

  • Can't be such a bad motor if reflections are being posted as faults.

  • You could always remove the doors and put them in the same bin as the badges and the rear wiper. Sent from my Note 3 using Tapatalk

Noticed this when I first got mine as well, door handle positioned far up high by the window and shiny chrome - though this would be obvious to designers!

Given time though don't notice it now or

a lot less anyway.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Won't be good in summer sun, when motorway driving , where good all round vision is vital.

And like the MkII, at night the headlight switch is reflected in the wing mirror as well ........

Not noticed this on mine, but it maybe dependant on drivers height and seat/mirror position?

More than likely. I'll chop an inch off of my legs so that it isn't a problem anymore. :-)

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

I wonder if someone can come up with some carbon effect covers for the door openers, so that it doesn't happen so much?

Think it might be the air vent surround also.

Does it on my Superb too - the drivers side air vent surround. Doesn't bother me anymore - I just look through it.

Yeah, but it's a design fault in my book. Could be an issue if a quick look decision was required.

Guess it's a personal thing, having worked in the auto industry for 30 yrs +

No, it's a  fantastic motor.

Engineers are notoriously fussy buggers that all, especially where safety aspect are concerned . Built into your DNA after a while.

Didn't notice any bad reflexions. Maybe because I'm not so tall and I always wear polarised sunglasses, those for winter are obviously clearer. Once you try it you'll never change it.

Wearing sunglasses at night?

I've noticed the same thing and it's a bit annoying when you first get into the car, I am 6ft 1 and have the seat at the bottom.

Definitely not as bad as on the Superb II. You could try sticking black electricians tape over the chrome!

Guess you've got all the safety kid on yours then-except the driver!

Point is , you shouldn't have too.

Spotted this on mine now it's been brought up, but its actually the chrome trim reflecting in the window on the door right where the wing mirror is, not into the mirror itself.  I only see it if i look for it though so it's not a problem.

First time I saw it , was In my Face and totally unexpected , not good if you are driving in traffic at speed -me thinks.

Thanks for your observations /confirmation though

Likewise until it was pointed out hadn't noticed it.

When sun is out can see the dashboard vents reflecting on the windscreen.

Surely reflections can never be described as faults. Any clean glass will give reflections. There is enough to concentrate on when driving without looking at reflections.
