A willing guinea pig required for VCDS settings documenting

Featured Replies

Hi

I am looking for anyone who is willing to travel to Rossendale (East Lancs, 20 miles north of Manchester) so that I can pull some adaptation and coding settings from their O3.

In return, I will quite happily enable any or all of the below if they are not already enabled and applicable to your model:

Cornering fogs

Rain Closing

Passenger Mirror dip on Reverse

Front and Rear Teardrop wipe

Needle Sweep (Staging)

Auto boot closing from remote and interior button (power boot required on the estate version!)

Adjust number of flashes for comfort turn signals

Display interior fan speed when in auto mode

Laptimer

Display Gallons Consumed

Disable Sound Aktuator (vRS)

The only criteria is your car MUST have the following spec:

Columbus that has the menu option to display speed signs (in the map menu)

Does not have Lane Assist and therefore Traffic Sign Recognition (so that rules out vRS owners unfortunately)

All I want to do is grab an output of how your car is coded and adapted from the factory to try and sort an issue with mine in regards to the speed signs on the Columbus. It will take a couple of hours max to pull all of the settings to my laptop.

PM me if you can help me out :-)

Thanks
Andy

Shame you didn't want a mk2 FL....  :)

If anyone in the notts/derby area has a suitable car and could help the I would be happy to hook up my laptop and feed you the relevant information.

Cheers Guys - I need the controller channel maps doing for adaptations in csv format really for module 5F - Infotainment, and probably 09 - Central Electronics and 17 - Instruments. The only one that requires a security log in is 09 (31347).

I have pulled the Channel Map for adaptations on 09 today on a vRS and it took about 20 minutes!!!!!, but it does have about 1740 adaptation channels!!

Essential to have the laptop hooked up to the mains for doing this.

Cheers Paul!

I'm doing a fair bit of coding of cornering fogs on O3 vRS's, Simpsons are going to be a bit surprised when they all turn up for their first service with cornering fogs enabled, amongst other things.

Wot does traffic sign recognition do?

Wot does traffic sign recognition do?

I'm going to guess recognise road signs

Without sounding facetious, recognises traffic signs.

The Lane Assist Camera sees the road signs and certain types of sign are then displayed on the Maxidot and the Navigation screen. I think you need Columbus & Lane Assist for it, not sure if it works with the Amundsen or not.

I specifically need a car with a Columbus and without Lane Assist, so any coding and adaptations do not include Traffic Sign Recognition.

The Columbus should display speed limit embedded in the map data, but mine doesn't, and doesn't have the menu item for it either. I have enabled a few options but all I ended up with was a car that thought it had full Traffic Sign recognition and started moaning (logging fault codes) for the incorrect camera being fitted!

Clever clogs!

Wow

I guess optical recognition has come a long way.

I would understand reg plates with few letterings scanned by police or if road signs had a special code (bar codes , Q codes),

But to recognize the whole say motorway signs :-)

Some great progress being made on VCDS for the MK3. Is there already a dedicated thread/sticky elsewhere on the site that documents all the possibilities with the specific changes required?

Keep up the good work! This is going to freak out my dealer ;)

I'm trying to keep track of all I have discovered so far, but most comes from here http://www.stemei.de/pages/coding/seat-leon-5f.php in the first place, just a case of working out what is applicable and also some of the details are slightly different (like the vRS having 2 front foglight bulbs per side, so a bit of digging was needed to find the additional adaptation channels).

Perhaps a sticky is needed, I'll start getting screenshots of everything I have found so far and posting them up.

Still need a willing volunteer :-)

It is only certain types of signs, speed limits, restrictions etc.

Tomorrow s supposed to be nice sunny day, and quiet Sunday too.

My Superb 2 any good to u?

Can you confirm what you enable to get Corning fogs active on a vrs as I enabled them on mine however all that happened was both inner fogs were illuminated constantly when the headlight are switched on both in park and drive.

Don't know for a O2 FL, sorry

Working on the Octavia 3 now :-)

Just noticed you have a O3 now from your traffic sign recognition picture! You need to update your sig!

At a guess you have made the same mistake as I did on CharleyB's car and enabled the foglights to function as Abblendlicht instead of Abbiegelicht

See my separate thread on vRS fog lights - there are 4 screenshots showing which 4 adaptation channels need changing.

Wish it was, but I need a specific spec Octavia 3 to compare to mine. Thanks for the offer though.

Ah

Thought so.

Just mis-interpret your "any car",

But I guess the Mk3 section was a hint - lol

Yes I think I did cheers for that!

Have you tested the rain close yet? As I enabled this, locked car and poured water over sensor and the windows didn't close.

  • Author

No I haven't, but I did spot another setting for the Rain/Light Sensor that may have something to do with it.

On the O2, to test it you had to spray water on to the RLS.

  • Author

ollybroad - could you pull the controller maps from yours from your 5F Columbus? Just the adaptations output to csv?

Thanks

Andy

Yes will do it today.

I reckon that if you go into 09 - Central Electronics, then into coding and select the RLS, Byte 1 Bit 2 may need enabling :-)

Off to give it a go in a minute!
