hi there

Ive got a 2000 skoda octavia 1.9 sdi, the non air con model, and i was wondering if anyone can tell me if the heater dials on the center console are meant to work because mine haven't since i bought the car.

and if so can anyone offer any solutions?

thanks very much for any comments.

Hi there

I will move this to a more relevant section, where you will get more views and replies

The Introduce Yourself section is basically just for saying hello

Best of luck

I would expect that the lights behind the centre console have burnt out.  This was certainly the case on my parents mk3 Astra (L reg) - I have replaced the bulbs a few times as they are on all the time the ignition is on.  I should say this is a guess, as I have a climatronic unit on 2001 old girl (with 222,222miles on the clock)

Try the search facility.  I seem to remember an old thread a couple of years ago about pulling off the dial knobs and then using a piece of rubber tubing to pull out the old bulbs.

THeres a little bulb (i'll check what size, i haz a spare one) that lives behind the middle dial on the blower.

put it to number 2, grip it with a vice grip and some rubber to not mark it, and pull.

pop out the dead one and replace. 2 min job :-)

thats cudve been my theread pikpilot!  i just used the pliers on my leatherman to pull out the bulb - small little 5W 1 i think.

theres just the one, the other dials light up off some refracting plastic from the middle one.
