Metal Grey?

Featured Replies

Car arrived with the dealer today and they invited me down for a peak, it's not been cleaned and the sun was in an awkward position, plus they are phone camera pics, end of excuses, my apologies if any aren't the right way up. I'm collecting on Monday, Hoorah,

  • Red, it matches the brakes and rear light cluster I would say having a popular colour can make a re-sale easier, you probably won't get any of that £500 back your right but it's also about buying what

  • another metal grey to the gang, really think it suits the RS hence why I chose it.

  • And here are some other shots taken in a different light at the dealers just before collection.

I can't make my mind up if I like it or not. I want to like it. I think I'd need to see one in the 'flesh'.

Really like Metal Grey-looks classy, in my view.

Tried configuration and it looks great with Red or silver interior.

Probably looks more striking in red from a distance.

Interior picture of Metal Grey against Alfa dark grey.  These are a bit misleading as the Alfa grey is a very black grey rather than the almost brown looking colour here.  Similarly the Metal Grey isn't represented quite acurately, it shows a much greener/bluish hue here.

I think having seen this I'm changing from Candy White to Metal Grey. Keep black pack and sunset glass on a VRS Estate.

May drop the pano roof though, not sure. I fancy the electric tailgate too.

Thank's Zzap for the pics! I definitely made the right choice changing from black to Metal Grey

Hop to get a build week soon!

I have that exact spec on mine. vRS estate, Metal Grey, sunset, black pack and anthracite gemini. IMO that is the perfect combo :)

Looks very nice and it might have tempted me to get a metallic had it been available back in October but I think I made the right choice with white and spending on options instead; more than covered the cost of a winter pack.

Will find out soon; being built sometime this coming week  :)

TP

looks ok but still wouldn't pay £500 for the privilege of any of the metallics

+1 just buying my third candy white skoda for that very reason. Most metallics on cheaper cars are riddled with orange peel anyway so would likely feel v short changed.

I know this is a new colour for Skoda but is there an equivalent already on Audi/VW/Seat?

I don't think so. I've tried to find the colour (F6F6) on Audi/VW/Seat but no luck :(

Found more pics on Metal Grey on the face lifted Superb

So far I'm the only one in Sweden with a Metal Grey Octavia on order

After much deliberation I've decided not to go for the Metal Grey, for me there's too much green in it.  If it had been similar to Audi's Daytona grey I would have gone for it.

So it's back to conservative Brilliant Silver with silver trim, a bit boring maybe but I think it looks quite classy.

Now deliberating whether to go DSG or not

If a TDi the manual will probably be a better drive. DSG does work v well with the petrol engines however.

Not gospel just my own personal experience of having had diesel and turbo petrol DSG cars in recent times.

BW13 on my Metal Grey vRS.

Anyone got photos of a Metal Grey Octavia or even a vRS!?

Oi ! No !

Stop ordering metal grey, or it'll be too common when I get mine :p

TBH its hard to tell from pics, and the superb on the forums Jannescaffer linked too look at odds with most of the others.

The colour swatch I looked at looked pretty close to an anthracite with a very faint blue tint, but even those aren't always correct.

Given the limited (in comparison to other in the octy range) colours on the vRS, I was going to go for black, but once I saw this was added, I plumped for it as I thought it would look nice.

I think the orange peel is luck of the draw tbh, the white Octy I saw in the dealers when ordering mine looked worse than most.

It is probably something to do with the change to paints, due to environmental reasons, a few years back.

It seems odd that they haven't gotten the robots and conditions set up by now in the factory, but I have seen it on many makes. Usually it seems less obvious on metallic to me, maybe the clear coat helps ?

Out of interest, which wheels did you choose? The anthracite or silver Gemini?

Having changed my order from race Blue to Metal Grey (and still waiting on dealer to confirm order changed) I cannot decide on wheel option.

Antracite wheels, red interior trim :)

Same as me! I went for full leather seats :)

Hmmm ... looks lighter than I thought, the majority of pics on or linked to on this thread vary a bit in tint which I don't mind, but now undecided as I was after a darker shade ... :wall:
